PETMED EXPRESS D/B/A 1-800-PETMEDS ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER FINANCIAL RESULTS Pompano Beach, Florida, January 24, 2005 - PetMed Express, Inc. (NASDAQ: PETS) today announced results for the quarter ended December 31, 2004. Net sales for the three months ended December 31, 2004 were $20.8 million, compared to $17.2 million for the three months ended December 31, 2003, an increase of 21%. Net income was $2.0 million, or $.08 diluted per share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2004, compared to $1.2 million, or $.05 diluted per share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2003, an increase to net income of 60%. Net sales for the nine months ended December 31, 2004 were $84.8 million, compared to $72.5 million for the nine months ended December 31, 2003, an increase of 17%. Net income was $5.6 million, or $.23 diluted per share, for the nine month period, compared to net income of $4.5 million or $.19 diluted per share, for the same period a year ago, an increase to net income of 25%. Mendo Akdag, CEO, commented: “Our reorder sales increased 27%, from $11.4 million to $14.5 million for the three months ended December 31, 2003 and 2004, and our reorder sales increased 40%, from $36.8 million to $51.7 million for the nine months ended December 31, 2003 and 2004, respectively.
