Silver Sulfadiazine Cream 1% Directions:

  • Silver Sulfadiazine Cream 1% is a prescription antibacterial medication that is used topically on burns to prevent and treat bacterial and yeast infections.
  • Before treating your pet with Silver Sulfadiazine Cream 1%, wash your hands and then clean the affected area of your pet's skin as directed by your veterinarian. Once your pet's wound is clean, wash your hands thoroughly again and put on sterile disposable gloves. This is to avoid introducing additional bacteria and other infective agents into the burned area of your pet's skin.
  • Apply the cream once or twice a day, as directed. After application, you may leave the wound uncovered, or cover it with a sterile gauze bandage. It is important that your pet's burn be covered with the cream at all times, so if the cream rubs off on a bandage, your pet's bedding or other cloth, you may need to reapply the cream. Always reapply cream if your pet bathes or gets wet.
Tip:

Silver Sulfadiazine Cream 1% is for topical use only. Give this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian. Wear sterile gloves while applying, and apply only to cleaned areas.

Amazing Product!
My retriever had cancer surgery and needed this cream for healing as her abdominal skin had sloughed off around the very large surgical site. I don't want to share the graphic details, but I will just say her cancer wounds looked like something out of the movie Alien. Our vet had sent me home with some of this cream, but of a heavier consistency. I ordered this one at 1-800-PetMeds and noticed it was more of a whipped consistency. I feel that this product worked so much better than what my vet had sent me home with - within three days of switching to this one, I had seen so much more improvement than what I had been seeing earlier. Her skin is nice and pink now, knitted well around the edges and the scabbing in the center closed off and healed within a week of using this! I also have to say that customer service here is exceptional! When I placed the order, they contacted me to confirm and ask how soon I needed it. I explained my situation as the vet had no more to offer, and customer service overnighted the product to me at no extra charge. I then called to thank them for overnighting it but had concerns about the product's texture; I was afraid it wouldn't stay on her skin well. I was immediately offered a refund, which I refused as I needed to use it anyway - and here I am ordering more! We are very pleased with this product! Thank you 1-800-PetMeds for carrying this and for your superior service!

Miraculous medicine!
This is the most amazing topical antibacterial I have ever used! Seriously! Fairly recently I acquired a strain of MRSA I couldn't get rid of for over 6 months. MRSA is a mutated bacteria stemming from staphylococcus or staph. Bucause it has muted it is generally restistant to most antibiotics used to fight a general staph infection. Now, Staph or MRSA can be living on anyone's skin, and it generally is. One of the most common places it lives or is found is in the hospital or in heavily populated close knit quarters like even jail and such. It finds a way into the body, usually those with low immune systems, like myself (I have uncontrolled diabetes type 2) and can cause a pretty ugly infection. So when I got an infection on the lower part of my leg I immediately went to the hospital ER. There they gave me a prescription of oral route Clindamycin. Over a period of 6 months I had 4 ER visits, 5 Clindamycin prescriptions ( 3 oral routes and 2 IV drips.), and a combo script of Bactrim/Kephlex that never even came close to healing me. It wasn't until I was recommended this Silver Sulfadiazine Cream by two different people did I begin to see and feel some significant healing happening with my wounds, which by now had become numerous b/c of the spreading of bacteria to various parts of my face and body including my eye! I cannot even begin to tell you how painfull and ugly these lesions were, not to mention humiliating and disfiguring. It has now been over 6 months and my results from using this cream is astonishing. For once I'm feeling as though I may have cured or healed myself completely from the grips of this horrific bacteria. I may sound like a commercial but that's cool with me. If I can turn anyone on to the benefits of this miraculous cream then hey, I'm all for it!

Amazing
Hospitals give this to people with 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns. It is definitely worth the price. It takes away the pain immediately and prevents infection. Works on my dog. He touched a hot grill and got a small burn. But this healed him within five days.

Works Great!
I use this on my horse when he gets cut, bitten and his hide ripped off him from the other horses due to very rough play, or for very nasty bug bites, too much butt rubbing against a barn or fence and it becomes red, bloody and swollen. He heals in no time fast. I have never seen anything like it. I highly recommend this product. Just make sure that you clean the infected area as good as you can before application.
