The FURminator Nail Grinder Replacement Grinding Bands 6 pk is a pack of six 120-grit sandpaper bands for use with theFURminator Nail Grinder(sold separately). Replacing worn grinding bands will help you trim your pet's nails faster and will give nails a smooth finish. They are easy to replace using a Phillips screwdriver (not included).

How it works:

FURminator Replacement Grinding Bands are made for the FURminator Nail Grinder. The 120-grit sanding surface helps to shape nails quickly and leaves a smooth finish. Each pack contains 6 replacement grinding bands.

Cautions:

As with all pet nail grooming tools, care must be taken not to damage the quick of the nail, which is the pink area that contains the blood vessels and nerves. Use as directed. Keep out of the reach of children.

To Replace the Grinding Band:

Make sure the FURminator Nail Grinder is off and remove the batteries prior to opening the clear protective cover.
Gently pull the clear protective cover off.
Holding the Grinding Band between your fingers firmly, loosen the single screw on top of the Grinding Band by turning the screw counter-clockwise with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Remove the old Grinding Band and replace with a new one.
Insert and tighten the screw on top of the Grinding Band. Do not over-tighten.
Place the clear protective cover back on and reinsert the batteries.

Tip:

Replace the Grinding Band when it appears worn or when it becomes more difficult to file your pet's nails.

Great Grinder but IMPOSSIBLE to close

When the batteries weakened and it was time to change them, there was NO WAY I could get the cover to go back onto the grinder. I have had this grinder for less than a year and it is useless to me now.

Nail grinder

It lasted 4.5 years…not sure if that’s good enough since I took really good care of it and it was used once a week (234 times give or take a few). My biggest complaint is that even new batteries did not bring about good speed for grinding in the past year. I’m not sure if I would recommend this product, but my dog only knows nail grinding at home, not nail clippers!

I have one beagle who prefers it and one who hates any kind of nail trim. I save $15 a month trimming my older beagles nails.

Battery blahs

My grinder is less than a year old. The replacing of batteries issues not working after first time use. The first time use was amazing, however I did not pay for a disposable unit.

smooth nails

I bought this item years ago for the dog who his nails trimmed. Thinking this would be easier but he didn't like the noise so we had to take him to have them trimmed. BUT now that he is older and can't hear as well he tolerates much better his nails be filed down vs the clippers. So happy I have this tool.

Motor seemed to be strained

The sound terrifies my dog, and the motor seems to strain after only brief use.

Nail trimming easier/faster!

I bought this to use on my Shiba Inu and I'm so glad I did. Maya HATES the traditional nail clippers so when I was told about this tool I didn't hesitate! She tolerates this so much better than clippers and because of the 2 speeds, it's so much faster! I wish it was rechargeable instead of using batteries. If the speed isn't as strong and it's not as effective, it's a good indication that it's time to change the batteries. Other than that, would recommend this product!
