Seems to be a hit
I've been trying the Taste of the Wild brand now for about five months. Our mini-schnauzer seems to prefer the roasted lamb to the bison. She has a white coat and regularly gets breakouts along her back. With the roasted lamb the breakouts seem to occur less, and in smaller patches. Honestly, it's still at about the same rate as when she was on the Iams brand lamb & rice (she didn't care for the flavor), but the breakouts are MUCH less than when she was on the Purina lamb and rice brand (which she loved). She's fairly vocal these days about getting her TotW evening meal. She sometimes wants her morning serving and sometimes not. We cut her portion down to somewhere between a 1/3 - 1/2 cup x2 per day depending on her activity that day. She's at a perfect weight now. Our collie mix rescue will pretty much eat anything so I'm not sure his opinion counts. He's got a bum hip so he's not as active as we'd like so he's down to 1 cup 2x a day and is now at a nice healthy weight. He was all bones and fur when we got him. One 30lb bag feeds both dogs for about 5 weeks. I still think the cost is a bit stiff, but I usually search for coupons to cut it down a little bit and the free shipping is always nice.

I was told about this food from my new groomer. My dog Mia has really bad allergies. I recently had her allergies tested and she is allergic to Egg, Oatmeal, Fish, Carrots, Beef (and lots more). I used to have her on a Salmon and Oatmeal food and of course had to take her off that due to allergies. I now have her on a vet food with theonly meat source being Chicken Fat. It is very hard for me to find a good quality food that does not have any of the ingredients she is allergic to. I was so happy to find this blen (Sierra) as it has Lamb (which will be great for her coat) and sweet potato and much more. I just bought it yesterday and am in the process of switching her~

Best Food For Your Dog
I have two jack russell mix dogs. Finding them a good food was really hard.I tried Taste of the Wild and they LOVE it!!!
They eat all their food and don't pick at it like the other brands, their coat is really shiny since they have started this food and they have both maintained a excellent weight. It's a little much in price but it is far worth it if you strive to keep a healthy dog.

I can't believe the difference
I was told that this food would change the way my dog looked, acted, and went to the bathroom, and it exceeded my expectations 10 fold. There is a difference in dog foods, and I can see the difference in my dog's coat, after 2 weeks. I'm here to buy another bag, now going for the bigger one because it is a better value.

QUESTION
Are there no recent reviews? a lot can change in six years
ANSWERS (1)
Yes, we do have one recent review from within the past year.
There might be some chicken fat in the Smoked Salmon; Sierra with lamb is "cleaner." Might also check on outside allergies to pollen, carpet backing, mites, etc.

Dogs can have food allergies to a number of proteins, most commonly chicken. You should give your dog a novel protein source (one that your dog has not eaten before) such as duck, lamb or venison. A good choice would be one of the Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets. This food is part of the Allergy-Free line of foods created for dogs prone to food allergies or sensitivities. This dog food limits the ingredients in your dog's diet which may help to reduce allergic reactions such as skin problems, upset stomach, or an irritable bowel. Here is a link to this food:

What is Taste Of The Wild Sierra Mountain Canine Formula Dry Dog Food?
Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain Canine Formula with Roasted Lamb is a hearty and nutritious meal for dogs of any age, size, or breed. Real lean cuts of lamb provide highly digestible sources of protein, while sweet potatoes and peas are used to provide your dog with high levels of energy. Whole fruits and vegetables provide natural sources of vitamins and antioxidants to boost your dog's immune system. This dog food also contains proteinates (protein compounds), which help your dog's body absorb the nutrients to get the most out of the food. Taste of the Wild is grain free, which makes it a great food for dogs with intolerances or allergies to grains.
For:
Dogs
Benefits:
Ideal for dogs of all life stages (puppies to senior)
Grain free means no corn, wheat, soy, or fillers
#1 ingredient is real lamb meat
Fruits and vegetables provide natural sources of antioxidants
Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids help maintain healthy skin and coat
Dried chicory root helps support a healthy digestive system
Naturally preserved
Available in 3 different sizes (5, 14, or 28 lb. bags)
No toxic chemicals, artificial flavors, or artificial colors
Made in the USA in three manufacturing facilities (California, Missouri, and South Carolina)
How it works:
Each batch of Taste of the Wild is cooked with water that is purified through reverse osmosis, the same process used by popular bottled water manufacturers. This helps to remove any microorganisms, organic and inorganic chemicals, and ensures the meats and meat meals are steamed (cooked) with purified water. Taste of the Wild provides your dog with a hearty meal that is not only delicious but also provides essential vitamins and antioxidants to stay healthy and active.
Days 1 & 2: Feed 75% previous dog food and 25% Taste of the Wild.
Days 3 & 4: Feed 50% previous dog food and 50% Taste of the Wild.
Days 5 & 6: Feed 25% previous dog food and 75% Taste of the Wild.
Day 7: Feed 100% Taste of the Wild.
Tip:
Digestive upset caused by a diet change can sometimes be prevented by mixing some non-fat plain yogurt in with your dog's food each day during the transition. The live cultures within the yogurt will help balance the flora within the digestive system and minimize flatulence or loose stools that are sometimes associated with a diet change.
