What is Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Canine Formula Dry Dog Food?

Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Canine Formula with Smoked Salmon is a hearty and nutritious meal for dogs of any age, size, or breed. Real lean cuts of salmon (certified hormone free and antibiotic free) provide highly digestible sources of protein, while sweet potato and peas are used to provide your dog with high levels of energy. Whole fruits and vegetables provide vitamins and antioxidants to boost your dog's immune system. Pacific Stream Formula also contains proteinates (protein compounds), which help your dog's body absorb the nutrients to get the most out of the food. Taste of the Wild is grain free, which makes it a great food for dogs with intolerances or allergies to grains.

  • Ideal for dogs of all life stages (puppies to senior)
  • Grain free means no corn, wheat, soy, or fillers
  • #1 ingredient is real salmon
  • Fruits and vegetables provide natural sources of antioxidants
  • Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids help maintain healthy skin and coat
  • Dried chicory root helps support a healthy digestive system
  • Naturally preserved
  • Available in 3 different sizes (5, 15, or 30 lb. bags)
  • No toxic chemicals, artificial flavors, or artificial colors
  • Made in the USA in three manufacturing facilities (California, Missouri, and South Carolina)
How it works:

Each batch of Taste of the Wild is cooked with water that is purified through reverse osmosis, the same process used by popular bottled water manufacturers. This helps to remove any microorganisms, organic and inorganic chemicals, and ensures the meats and meat meals are steamed (cooked) with purified water. Taste of the Wild provides your dog with a hearty meal that is not only delicious but also provides essential vitamins and antioxidants to stay healthy and active.

Digestive upset caused by a diet change can sometimes be prevented by mixing some non-fat plain yogurt in with your dog's food each day during the transition. The live cultures within the yogurt will help balance the flora within the digestive system and minimize flatulence or loose stools that are sometimes associated with a diet change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of all ! I used to cook for my high energy Australian Cattle Dog. But he was always panting and pacing. His tongue and gums were bright red and he was stressed. Plus, he was getting fat. My vet suggested this grain-free, easily digestible, high-quality food. Since changing to T of W Pacific Stream, my heeler still has all the energy, just not the stress from poor digestion. He's a happy dog, Plus, this food is more affordable for me than other grain-free brands

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT quality food! I love this food! My rotty had itchy skin and dull fur when I had him on other "quality" brands, so I switched to this one because of the salmon. His fur is silky and shiny now! He doesn't stink anymore!!! He LOVES the flavor and he poops less. I definitely recommend this food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This food is WONDERFUL I used to give my dog IAMS thinking it was good food. It isn't. It's primary ingrediant is corn. My dog kept getting fatter and he looked like a sausage dog. So I decided to try this grain free Taste of the Wild. My dog is now a lean mean puppy machine! He looks AMAZING. he has so much energy...I dont even know how to wear him out. He is less itchy and his skin looks so much better....DID I Mention he is only on his FIRST BAG!! I am online now ordering the 2nd bag before we run out. TASTE- He is CRAZY for the taste. He ate the old food as a last resort. He even loves the smell of the bag. ( I picked the Salmon Pacific Stream flavor) I highly reccomend this food. I am so happy with results ..I can't believe he is so fit and trim before one bag is even empty. And I feel guilty for feeding him the grocery store junk food for so long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Taste of The Wild-Pacif Strm Canine w/Smoked Salmo On the advice of my vet, I switched my German Shepherd over to this high quality, non-grain food due to suspected food allergies. No problem switching 100% in less than a week and Jax loves the food. I highly recommend Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Smoked Salmon.

Is the Taste of the Wild a good choice for a small breed dog that needs to lose weight?

We have an overweight (6 lbs) Miniature Schnauzer. Would the Taste of The Wild be a good choice of food for him?
Asked by: Bev
My dog went from 49 pds to 42.3 pds because of this food and we haven't even finished the first bag yet. He is supposed to weigh about 39 pds. Looks like a few more weeks, and he will be at his perfect weight for the first time in years. Yes, I do believe this food will help your dog lose weight without limiting his proper portion. I gave him the same amount of food as before. I didnt change anything else...except I buy him healthier treats now too.

Can the smoked salmon tax the kidneys or bladder?

I have an 11-year-old Airedale, Cody, and he has urine specific gravity issues. He's usually around 10.16. He's been like this for 8 years. Every 6 mos. I have his urine sampled and bloodwork done at the same time and his kidney values are always normal. Just wondered if the salt in the smoked salmon in additin to the salt in the ingredients would too much on the kidneys. He has food allergies, so that's why, upon the advice of my derm vet am trying the fish and she recommended TOTW. Thx
Asked by: Cindy
It would seem logical to me that if your veterinarian recommended Taste of the Wild that it would be safe. However, because of the salt, and because of your pet's kidney issue, perhaps you want to check with your veterinarian one more time.
