How to Use
Directions:
  • Adult Dogs: Adult dogs should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Sweet Potato & Venison Formula, the change should be made gradually by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Sweet Potato & Venison Dry Dog Formula. The change should be completed after 5 to 7 days. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature, and activity of your dog. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your dog's needs.
  • Working Dogs: Based on the work your dog will be asked to perform, the nutritional requirements will vary accordingly. As the workload increases, the demand for protein and fat increases proportionally. Dogs in hard training will generally require twice the maintenance levels.
  • Older Dogs: As dogs begin to age, their energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for a less active dog.
Tip:

Fresh clean water should be available at all times

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this food is a life saver I spent over $5000.00 on my dog in 3 yrs w/ ear and skin infections, hair loss allergy tests ,shots, serums, and more. I was so desperate. I found this food and it has saved her life.I was at wits end with these skin allergies. If you want a great dog food, buy this. And if your dog has intestinal, ear or skin problems, do not give any thing bit a limited ingredient diet eliminate all treats and human food. It is well worth the money. Thank you Natural Balance my dog and myself are so grateful. PS She loves it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Choc Lab Red itchy skin, constant diarhea, mangy coat, body odor and weight loss. We had all types of test ran. Finally realized he was allergic most common brands of dog food. We fed him Natural Balance in one months time we had a healthly, full of energy, dog. I can not begin to tell you how great this food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!! My Beagle was suffering with allergies so bad – red skin, flaking, scratching, etc. This food helps him so much – and he loves it. I’m a big fan of venison and was raised on it in Pennsylvania and know what a healthy protein it is – so I was hoping this grain-free food would work for him – and it really really does. No more skin problems and we won’t switch from Natural Balance now that he’s doing so good. Skin looks great, coat is shiny and he’s got lots of energy. 5 stars for this healthy, natural dog food for dogs with allergies!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for tummy sensitive breed I have a Boston Terrier as well as a Boxer. Both breeds are known to have difficult tummies, gas etc. Our vet is a firm believer in "non grain diets" and recommended this food for us. It's worked great. Both dogs have regular bowl movements and they hardly ever pass gas. I think we partially got lucky and the dogs are generally healthy but I'm sure the food doesn't hurt either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my dogs life My lhasa apso has severe allergies, which have almost killed him more than once in his life. Now, he only gets this food and he is healthy. The only time he gets sick is when someone feeds him something other than this food. I've tried other brands and even other formulas of this brand, but this is the best food for him. He no longer has tear stains and his coat is beautiful.

Q&A

Is the venison and sweet potato east to digest? I have an American bulldog and he sometimes gets bloat.

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes this is a grain free food so it definitely should be easier to digest.

Same as prescription food?

I have her on Royal Canin Potato and Venison wondering if this dog food is pretty much the same thing, without the prescription. The Royal Canin has helped with ear infections, swollen lips, and a lot of shedding, but according to the ingredients they seems the same.
Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. No, these are two different dog foods and you would have to consult your vet in regards to changing the food.

Do I need a prescription from my vet for your Hypoallerginic dog food?

I have him on Royal Canin Potato and Vension and I have to get a prescription from my vet to buy it and I think that is silly.
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi there, our current line of foods we carry do not require a prescription.

I add boiled chicken to the dry dog food. Please suggest how cups I should adjust for my 50 lb medium built dog?

Asked by: Anonymous
Why bother? Just feed the chicken formula and add meat to that. It will save you money. The venison formula is at least $10 more per bag. But otherwise, it depends on how much chicken. My suggestion is always this: Feed what you think is right, and next week if the dog looks fat, feed him less. If he looks skinny, feed him more. Old dog handlers' trick.
