Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1/3 the price at the vet This thyroxine is the same exact medication I get from the vet for my Bailey, at third of the price. Delivered as promised. Thanks 1800 Pet Meds!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Medication is great. Took a long time to get. Out dog, Maddie, has been on this medication for years. We moved from our Vet to 1800petmeds about 6 months ago without a problem. Last month she had blood work and the dose needed to be changed. Our Vet was contacted, but they did not respond. There was a mix up at their office, and I didn't get notified that the Vet had returned the prescription stating there was no owner/pet by that name. When I realized this 2 weeks later, I called 1800petmeds and they resent it to the Vet and I also called them to alert them of the request. I asked 1800petmeds if they could overnight my shipment as we were now out of medication and they adjusted shipping at no extra charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good alternative to Soloxine. Soloxine has been out of stock for a lengthy amount of time and this has been an adequate replacement. My dog's weight is still low and I haven't noticed any side effects except for increased water consumption which I'm not concerned about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generic just as good as Soloxine.... I've been giving this drug to my sweet golden (Buster) since I first discovered it's the generic equivalent of Soloxine, which seems to run out of stock more often than not. Also, I personally take this same medication for hypothyroidism, and I trust both my primary care physician and Buster's vet without question. I have faith that both are providing us with excellent care.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very helpful My Sheltie"s skin, disposition, and energy level are back to a more normal and healthy state. Lucky for me she was diagnosed with low thyroid because it made me address my low energy concerns. We are both basically on the same medication and are both doing very well.. Of course mine is from a Doctor and not a vet. This is a life time drug and I believe it works well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't like...... The medication seems to cause my friend's (Chocolate Lab/Pokie) muscles to deteriorate. I can not afford another blood panel so soon and was advised to keep him on same meds but can't when they are out.

It seems like my 78 lb. Dog still has one refill left of her levothroxin 120 pills. My vet wanted to check her blood a few months ago but we couldn't afford it. They told me her key tones were high ?What does that mean ? And ...will this cause depression

Asked by: Shells
Ketones are substances formed by the liver when fat is broken down. High ketones are usually associated with diabetes. They do not cause depression; however, it can be a symptom of hypothyroidism. Consider rechecking your pet's bloodwork as soon as possible.

Hi. I was doing my friend a favor letting her two dogs out. One of her dogs takes this medication and the other dog does not. The one that doesn't need it grabbed the food I had it in and ate it. Will it hurt the dog?

Asked by: Julie
One unnecessary dose of levothyroxine to a healthy dog should pose no harm. Notify the veterinarian of the accidental ingestion.
