It no longer works!
My cat was allowed outdoors, but was otherwise an indoor cat. This was back in 2008, and by going through the grass, she got a flea infestation. I bought her regular Frontline from this site back then, and it healed her. She’s not been outside for a few years, because she gets herself into too much mischief, but I guess somehow I, or her Daddy, must’ve tracked them into our carpeted apartment, because I have seen a few of those pests jumping off of her. My old Advantage brand had expired and evaporated in the package. So I ordered the Frontline from here again, hoping to alleviate her suffering. She’s constantly scratching and biting her once beautiful coat, which looks terrible now. After treating her last month, I washed ALL bedding and linens, etc, vacuumed everything, and sprayed Raid flea spray everywhere that was safe. We gave her a second treatment last week, and a few days ago, as I brushed her, another flea jumped off her. Her skin is full of scabs. I am so angry about this product! What worked like a charm in 2008 is ineffective in 2021!

No help at all for ticks.
This does absolutely nothing to stop the ticks from attaching to my two cats. Every night I pick at least 3-5 ticks off each of their faces. One night I picked 10 ticks off my cat's face and ears. So this product has proven to be a complete and total waste of money.

We apply monthly and it works totally fine.
My neighbors have reported that the flea and ticks this year (2020) are pretty bad. I live in the Denver metro area. I run with my 2 dogs (Black Heeler and a desert dog from Mexico) daily on dirt trails along a stream (for 45min to over an hour) in areas with flea and ticks. They occasionally run off the leash in knee high grass and spend the majority of their time lounging in the backyard. We apply this every 1st Saturday of the month from March 1 to October 1. Sometimes we forget or want to give them a bath outside, but it's cold out so we hold off for a few days. Same brand for 6 years. No problems. They weigh 29 and 43 pounds. They also swim in the local streams more than 2x a week.

What is Frontline Plus?

Frontline Plus is a monthly topical flea and tick preventative for dogs and cats. Frontline Plus kills 100% of adult fleas on your pet within 12 hours and 100% of all ticks and chewing lice within 48 hours. Frontline Plus contains an insect growth regulator, S-methoprene, which kills flea eggs and larvae. It's effective against all stages of the brown dog tick, the American dog tick, the lone star tick and the deer tick (the major carrier of Lyme disease). (3 Pack = 3 doses which lasts 3 months.)

For:

Cats/Kittens and Dogs/Puppies (8 weeks of age and older)

Benefits:

  • Kills all existing fleas on your pet within 12 hours
  • Each application provides a full month of protection
  • Also aids in the control of sarcoptic mange infections in dogs
  • Great for pets that swim since it's waterproof
  • Kills ticks and chewing lice

How does Frontline Plus work?

Frontline Plus contains fipronil, a broad-spectrum insecticide and slow-acting poison that disrupts the central nervous system of fleas and ticks and S-Methoprene, an insect growth regulator that kills flea eggs and larvae. The active ingredients are stored in the sebaceous glands and are wicked out of the hair follicles and continuously re-applied to the coat for long-lasting, waterproof protection.

Cautions:

Your pet may experience some temporary irritation at the site of application. If signs persist or become severe within a few days of application, consult your veterinarian immediately.

Brand Name:

Frontline Plus (Merial)

Generic Name:

Fipronil, S-methoprene
