way I give to eleven year old cats
I have been giving my cats the dasuquin capsule in their dry food for about two years. I usually get the dry cat food ready for a whole month and put it in a container. I put about three handfuls of dry cat food on a plate. I open a capsule and put it over the dry cat food and roll it around for about a minute, until it has been picked up by the dry food. This has worked for me extremely well. One other important thing is I only give them half of what they prescribe. The dasuquin makes my cats happier. They could get by without it, however it improves the quality of their life. Animals don't always show that they have arthritis. I notice a difference in my cats. Without it, my black and white tuxedo walks stiffly. My tortoiseshell is noticeably happier with the dasuquin.

Reduced limp significantly for 10 year old dog
My 70 pound shepherd mix dog developed a pronounced limp. While this was intermittent, it was concerning. She loves long walks, and they had to be cut short. She has been on Dasuquin for five weeks. She rarely limps, even on long walks on the weekends. The supplement didn’t eliminate the lamp altogether, but I only see the lamp on rare occasions. The improvement is striking. I bought a small bottle to start because her stomach is sensitive. She tolerated it so well and I saw an improvement after two weeks. I recently purchased a second, large bottle.

My vet recommended Dasuquin after I described how he was slowing down and not playing much. He was only 8 years old at the time and otherwise healthy. He did express tenderness or discomfort when touched or brushed near his hips. Without an X-ray she felt it was probably arthritis so recommended Dasuquin. I saw pretty fast results. He now plays again and can more easily jump up onto furniture as he did when younger. I am very happy he is better.

Tried the chews after vet recommended them for my senior Maine Coon. She loved them at first then refused them even after I cut them into smaller pieces. Now trying the capsules which I break open and stir into her moist food. She is refusing to eat her food despite it being her favorite flavor. Hopefully someone will see my message and make suggestions.

What is Dasuquin?

Dasuquin, in formulations for both dogs and cats, is a nutritional supplement containing proprietary ingredients, which goes above and beyond other supplements with glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate to maintain healthy joints. It is considered the "next generation Cosequin."

For:

Dogs and Cats

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive joint support health
  • Contains glucosamine, chondroitin and ASU
  • Protects cartilage
  • Allows pets to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle
  • Dasuquin for Dogs is available in a tasty, easy to administer chewable tablet
  • Dasuquin for Cats is available in a sprinkle capsule with tasty natural chicken and tuna flavors
  • No adverse side effects

How it Works:

Dasuquin's active ingredients include avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU) which have shown to help protect cartilage and improve joint function. The ASU also helps potentiate the activity of Glucosamine and chondroitin. The combination of all three ingredients supports cartilage production and blocks enzymes that break down cartilage in your pet's body. Glucosamine is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage in both humans and pets. It helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Further research on the effectiveness of glucosamine is still needed, but many of our customers find it to be very beneficial to their pets.

Cautions:

None.

Brand Name:

Dasuquin (Nutramax)

Active Ingredient(s):
