Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Have a 10 yr old lab that has been on this for 6 years. Having a small acl tear not large enough for surgery, I feel rehab at home along with Cosequin allowed for a quicker recovery. Would highly recommend this product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our twelve year old lab has been revitalized! Our dog has gone from being unable to climb stairs to very active again. This has helped her be her younger self again, thought she was on her last leg, but now she has renewed energy and wants to play again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for the pets Toby had started limping (he's almost 4) and we thought it was because of his chasing critters and got a thorn in his foot. we couldnt find anything in his paws so we tried Cosequin. it got rid of his limp. we had 2 other pets that we had used this on and it worked for them so we thought "why not". it is great, esp for older pets that might have arthritis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked for KC KC has been on Cosequin for small animals now for about 10 months. She started on a twice a day loading dose, now she’s on an alternating 1-2-1-2 etc. dose for maintenance. Now Cosequin doesn’t have any peer-reviewed studies to document effectiveness BUT anecdotally there’s no question it has helped many poochies. KC has chronically elevated liver enzymes so rimadyl and NSAIDs are a problem. Anyway it’s not magic but we’re convinced it helped.

My 50 lb 7 year old dog has mild joint pain can you advice what kind to give him? I noticed there is DS, DS with MSM chewables and the regular but it's for small dogs. He is very picky with tablets and if I do not cover in cheese he spits it out.

Asked by: Flower
Since your furry baby has mild joint pain, you may give the DS (double strength) without the MSM.

If my 13+ year old coonhound is already taking Rimadyl can I put him on Cosequin at the same time. Will the two meds together cause him to have any issues/side effects.

Asked by: Jake59
Yes, you can use joint supplements along with Rimadyl unless otherwise advised by your DVM.

Hello. My 1yr old pup was just diagnosed with hip dysplasia . Her weight ranges from just under 50lbs to just over 50lbs, give or take a pound. Which one would be best for her.

Asked by: Alainn79
Yes, this is one of our top selling joint supplements. Since canine hip dysplasia is a form of degenerative arthritis, joint supplements, which help dogs with arthritis, can also help your dog with hip dysplasia. Other options include homeopathic remedies, Omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, NSAIDs, and as a last resort, pain medications (steroids).

What is Cosequin for Dogs?

Cosequin for Dogs is a nutritional supplement that helps dogs maintain healthy joints. It has been rated the number one veterinarian-recommended joint health supplement brand. Cosequin's active ingredients include glucosamine and chondroitin, and it can have a positive impact on joint health, while avoiding the side effects that can sometimes accompany prescription drugs. It is available in regular strength capsules and double strength capsules and chewable tablets.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:

  • Supports & maintains joint and connective tissue health
  • Helps support cartilage matrix production & protects existing cartilage from breakdown
  • The double strength formula contains 500 mg of glucosamine and 400 mg of chondroitin
  • Comes highly recommended by veterinarians
  • No reported side effects

How does Cosequin work?

Cosequin for Dogs contains glucosamine, which is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage in both humans and pets. It helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Many believe that it provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Further research on the effectiveness of glucosamine is still needed, but many of our customers find it to be very beneficial to their pets. The glucosamine is used in conjunction with sodium chondroitin sulfate, an important structural component of cartilage that provides much of its resistance to compression.

Cautions:

Side effects are rare, but may include diarrhea.
