Dog hates it!
I cannot get my dog to eat these. I’ve mixed it with just about everything I could think of. I’ve made gravy and smashed the pill in it and she would not touch it. It must really taste bad as my dog loves to eat people food but will not touch anything with the Bravecto in it. Won’t be buying it anymore. It might work for fleas but if you can’t get your dog to eat it it’s useless.

Bad reaction
I bought this on a recommendation from a friend, and it didn't agree with my dog (a senior pug). He got very sick and was vomiting and had diarrhea for 48 hours, every 2 hours we were outside. Pretty scary. It passed and he's fine now, but I won't be purchasing again. Maybe it was just a bad batch? After that experience, we're going the natural route - regular bathing with soap that has essential oils, apple cider vinegar rinses, and vet's best flea and tick spray. So far so good.

Can't get the dog to eat this.
My dog will not eat this chew at all. Tried cutting into 1/4s so she could take smaller bites. I have chopped it up into almost a powder and mixed it in with 3/4 pound of cooked sausage and she would't touch the sausage. Tried again with a pound of ground beef and made some gravy for over top and she still wouldn't eat it. And these are her favorites! She usually only gets a little of this but figured when she wouldn't eat it with just a 1/4 cup I mixed more in and more in and she can tell its there. She hates the taste of these chews. They may work great but if you can't get the dog to eat them, they are worthless and I have wasted so much money trying to get her to eat these things. Unless you have a dog that will eat literally everything, don't waste your money and sanity with these.

QUESTION
how long does one dose last
ANSWERS (1)
One dose works to prevent fleas and ticks for 3 months. There is a type of tick called Lone Star tick that this product will only work against it for up to 2 months. Your veterinarian may recommend using this product every 8 weeks if there is a known population of Lone Star ticks in your area.

What is Bravecto Chews?

Bravecto Chews is the first oral chew for dogs to provide up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks. One chew provides broad-spectrum and long-lasting protection that starts to kill fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick. Bravecto Chews eliminates current flea infestations and prevents new ones from developing for 12 weeks. With one chew, Bravecto Chews is easier to give and less to worry about for you! Bravecto Chews requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

NOTE: For a topical solution, try Bravecto Topical for Dogs.To protect cats against fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks, use Bravecto for Cats. For heartworm protection, try Ivermectin Pyrantel - Generic to Heartgard Plus.

For:

Dogs and puppies (over 4.4 lbs and 6 months of age or older)

Benefits:

  • With one dose, Bravecto Chews resets the clock on flea and tick protection by providing effective prevention and treatment for both fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks.
  • Close to a full year of protection with only 4 doses. No more monthly dosing!
  • No potential for messy application issues and no need to isolate from children or other pets after treatment
  • Fewer doses mean fewer chances to miss a dose decreasing the likelihood of having gaps in protection
  • Dogs love the taste!

How does Bravecto Chews work:

After giving your dog Bravecto Chews, the medication quickly reaches tissue fluids under your dog's skin. When fleas and ticks feed on your dog, they ingest Bravecto and die. Bravecto Chews kills fleas, prevents flea infestations and kills ticks (black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto Chews also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks.
