How does Seresto for Large Dogs work?

Seresto Large Dog collars make your dog’s comfort a priority by killing fleas and ticks on contact, so pests don’t have to bite your dog to die. Existing fleas die within 24 hours after initial application of the collar. After 24 hours, any new fleas on the dog are killed within 2 hours with protection against further flea infestation lasting 8 months. The prevention of infestations with new ticks starts at 48 hours after application of the collar. 48 hours after application, any new ticks are repelled and/or killed in as quickly as 6 hours. Seresto Large Dog collars protect against common pests like deer ticks, American dog ticks, brown dog ticks, and Lone Star ticks; they’re also effective against chewing lice. Fleas and ticks not only cause discomfort; fleas can transmit bartonellosis or tapeworm. Ticks can transmit Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme Disease. Check the product label for information on potential side effects.

Cautions:

The collar should not be used on puppies younger than seven weeks old or on kittens younger than ten weeks old. If ticks are present on your pet when the collar is applied, they will not die within the first forty-eight hours and should be removed manually. If your dog or cat shows any sign of skin irritation or other reaction to the collar, remove immediately and consult your veterinarian.

Do not allow children to play with collar or reflectors, or to put them in their mouths. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after fitting the collar. People with sensitivity reactions to the ingredients of the collar should avoid contact with the collar. Choking hazard. Contains small parts. Do not place reflectors in mouth. Not intended for use on humans.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place away from children.

About Interceptor Plus (milbemycin oxime + praziquantel) Chewable Tablets for Dogs

What is Interceptor Plus (milbemycin oxime/praziquantel) for Dogs?

If your dog is only protected from heartworm disease, there’s a gap in their coverage. Close the gap with Interceptor Plus. Interceptor Plus also treats and controls four other major worms including adult roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm infections in dogs and puppies. That’s protection against more types of worms than Heartgard Plus. Unlike Interceptor Plus, both Heartgard Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) and Simparica Trio (sarolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets) do not cover tapeworm or whipworm.*

When untreated, intestinal worms can cause discomfort and fatigue with diarrhea, weight loss, anemia and more. That’s why Interceptor Plus makes dosing easy and convenient with 5-in-1 protection in a tasty, chicken-flavored chew. No need to hide pills in food-pockets. This chewable heartworm prevention goes down easy and keeps the protection going strong for a month.

Interceptor Plus heartworm prevention is only available by prescription. Dogs must be at least six weeks old and weigh 2.0 - 8.0 lbs. to use this dose of Interceptor Plus.

Never miss a monthly treatment when you subscribe to convenient, regular doorstep deliveries of 1-dose, 6-dose or 12-dose packs. Before starting any heartworm prevention program, it’s important for your veterinarian to test your dog for an existing heartworm infection. At your next visit, tell your veterinarian you want PLUS-level protection for your loyal pup so you can enjoy peace of mind in all of their favorite places – from the backyard to the dog park.

*Heartgard Plus protects against heartworm disease, hookworms (A. caninum, U. stenocephala, A. braziliense), and roundworms. Simparica TRIO protects against heartworm disease, hookworms (A. caninum, U. stenocephala), and roundworms.

NOTE: To protect your dog from flea and ticks, try Credelio.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Giving this 5 stars because I’ve heard great things and read great reviews- my dog was recently in the ER for a bacterial infection and has been heavily medicated so was weary on adding anything into his system too (even externally). But it definitely seems easy to use and doesn’t at all seem too tight or uncomfortable.

Efficient and safe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This collar fits my German Shepherd perfectly. It can adjust the size and it’s soft. It has no strong odor. I like using this collar when I take my dog out.

Product was well packaged. Have used this for my Cane Corso for the last two years and has worked extremely well. You can cut it to size so it fits properly and you do not have excess hanging off the collar. We live in a wooded area and I have never seen a single tick or flea on her since we began using this product.

The only flea and tick protection I’ve ever used for my dogs. The collar is easily adjustable to your dogs neck and no irritation noted. Works effectively and I’ve never had issues with fleas or ticks since using this product. Highly recommended!

It works for 8 months.
We’ve had our little girl on this flea killer for 10 years now. She has never been bothered by those little parasitic vampires ever since. She wears it under her collar comfortably. It adjusts to fit her, just snip off the excess. Never had any skin irritation.

Works really well
The collar is smooth. And adorable it last when my husky scratch his neck. It works really good with all that hair. I just still didn’t have to worry about fleas. The instructions are very easy to follow. I had no problem fitting it to my dog and cutting out the rest.

Does a great job serving its purpose!
This flea collar held up really well for our large dog. We usually switch them out around the 6 month mark but they have done great for keeping bugs off of him! Easy to get on, easy to understand instructions.

Summary of Reviews

This summary is generated by artificial intelligence based on customer reviews
Customers overwhelmingly praise this heartworm and parasite preventive for its proven effectiveness, with many reporting years of use without any parasite sightings or positive test results. However, palatability presents a notable challenge—while many dogs readily accept the chew as a treat, a substantial number refuse to eat it, describing it as too hard to chew. Some customers employ workarounds like breaking it into pieces or hiding it in food. A few report adverse reactions including lethargy or diarrhea. Despite these concerns, most customers consider the product's reliable protection worthwhile.

Great Heart Worm Protection
Intercepter plus has been the only heart worm medication we have trusted to give our dog. We usually stock up every 6 months from our local vet. It comes in a nice compact box which is great for storage. Our dog also loves the taste, although we do give her a little piece of cheese with it.

Works Well
We have been using Interceptor Plus since we got our dog. We have had no issues and it seems to work well. New was the brand our best recommended. Our dog is a little bit of a picky eater so we got a wrap bit in braunschweiger for him to eat it up.

Great product
Works well, used this for our golden until she needed the bigger dose. Our vet loves this brand and you only have to remember to give it once a month!

Just make sure to use it under your vet’s guidance
The chewable tablets are easy to give , especially for small dogs that can be picky with medication. Plus , the monthly dosage makes it simple to stay consistent without any hassle.

Great product
Works great to help keep my working dogs in great health. Dogs eat them right up without any extra flavoring- peanut butter or cheese. Soft and pliable to break in 1/2 for our picky dog.

Great product
We loved this for our dogs. They had no problems gobbling it right ip when in the past we have had to coat others in cheese or peanut butter. Smells good and easy to chew.

Keeps my dogs free of heartworms
Dogs take it willingly. Doesn’t seem to upset their stomach. Have used it for years and never had a positive heartworm test on any of my dogs that have used it.

Works like a charm. Our dogs downed these easily whereas others in the past we had to hide in pranut bitter or cheese. Smelled pleasant. Recommended by our vet!
