Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Low Fat Digestive Care Rice, Vegetable & Chicken Stew Wet Dog Food Directions:

  • Ask your veterinarian for specific feeding instructions for your pet.
  • Daily Feeding Recommendations are only a guide and a place to start.
  • New to this food? Mix increasing amounts of your pet's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food for 7 days or more.

  • Your pet's nutritional needs may change as they age. Ask your vet at every checkup.
Tip:

Introduce New Food Gradually: Even if the new food is of high quality, like Hill's Perfect Digestion, a sudden change in diet can cause gastrointestinal upset. Start by mixing a small amount of the new food with your dog's current food and gradually increase the amount over 7 days until your dog has fully transitioned to the new food. This slow transition can help your dog's digestive system adjust to the new food and prevent unwanted digestive issues.

Bella the sweetest havapoo
My poor Bella, 5.4 lb Havapoo has been battling diahrrea for almost 3 weeks. 2 vet visits, big shot each visit xrays blood analysis, stool sample negative for parasites and 2nd sam0le out for analysis. 2 probiotics orally and Flagyl. 1st full day and a half on canned low fat chicken with rice she had solid poos. Prescribed by vet 1/2 can per day.. Bella was so excited to have solid poo she was running in circles & smiling at me.. We are praying bloodwork and her stool deep dive analysis discloses cause.

Quality has changed.
My dog has been on this food for years. Recently the cans seem to have less food and more liquid. I've had to give my dog more food as he seems hungry after eating. Why did the formula change? I'd rather see a small cost increase then having to buy more cans.

Inconsistent at best
I've used this food for well over a year now as my dog needs a low fat food. I NEVER get a case of cans that look the same from one case to the next. Everytime I get a case that even slightly looks off or different. What do you know my dog gets sick! This is PRESCRIPTION food for dogs with GI issues. Why on earth would this food vary so much from case to case?! It's great when the food actually looks like it should. I'm really starting to think this food is doing more harm than good at this point between the quality issues and health issues it is causing my dogs. I could understand if it wasn't prescription but come on. Get it together Hill's. The can on the left is from a new case and the can on the right is how it SHOULD look.

Change of formula
This statement concerns the Science Diet i/d Low Fat Stew. After the recent formula change, my dogs refuse to eat it, and every case I've purchased has a spoiled. We had them on this food for years, with no issues, but now, we are having trouble getting them to eat. We now have to find a different food. It definitely has changed.

Charlie's epileptic and pancreatic
My basenji who has epilepsy, stopped eating anything for days. His vet now diagnosed him with pancreatitis. It took a bit of coaxing at first, but now he's eating the stew and the loaf.We tried all of the mail order foods and he refused to eat any of it. It's no more expensive than some other brands and as long as he's eating, I'm happy. 😊

My dog loves the stew!
My dog loves this new stew formula. She has become very picky about her food. She liked the original loaf, but absolutely loves the stew. Thank you!

My dog loves it.
I have been feeding my ShiTzu (mix) this food for about two years. I feed a mix of this and Hills Perfect Weight dry food. My dog loves this food and has not had gastric irritation since I begin using it. I am on “auto ship” from an on line retailer and receive a case (12 cans) every four weeks. My only complaint is that about every fourth or fifth case, the cans contain only about 2/3 solids and the rest is watery “gravy” and this food ain’t cheap. Maybe better canning QA?
