- Feeding Weaning Pups:
- Puppies start to nibble solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Pro Plan available at all times.Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6 - 8 weeks).
- Feeding Growing Pups:
- After weaning, Pro Plan can be fed moistened or dry. As puppies near adulthood, their calorie needs may drop, and your puppy may begin leaving some food in the bowl. Don’t misinterpret this as an indication of dislike for the food. Instead, begin offering less so your puppy doesn’t overeat and stays in ideal body condition.
- Feeding For Reproduction:
- Pro Plan provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation.Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female’s ideal body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
- Making the Switch to Pro Plan:
- Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dogs please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively.

PPP LB Beef and Rice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our Great Pyrenees puppy was fed Purina One LB Puppy and Purina LB puppy chow but needs a higher calorie puppy food due to not eating enough to gain the weight and get the caloric intake needed. We are hoping this diet is the one to help him gain weight.

Beware - bag was full of maggots
I opened this bag for my new puppy and found it full of disgusting maggots! I don’t think there is much quality control at Purina since I now see quite a few negative reviews regarding bugs in the dry dog food.

Large breed pro plan for puppies
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My pup is a 4 month old Great Dane with lots of personality. I have tried several brands of food that he won’t eat I’ve wasted at least 100$ . I talked to my vet and she recommended Purina pro plan . We tried chicken and rice he loved it. We are currently eating beef and rice and he loves just as much we will be transferring to adult version when he is ready.

switched from orijen large puppy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 1-year-old Shepherd has been on Orijen Large Puppy since she was 10 weeks. She was growing healthy but wasn't gaining weight like her sister. (The sister has been on purina since she was 10wks) This recent switch to the Purina brand was budget based and recommended by a well researched friend.Since the switch, I have noticed my pups fur is so much softer, and she has gained weight. With this dog food, she has finally thickened up like I hoped for. My fur baby also loves the taste. She doesn't wait to eat anymore she wants to eat as soon as I pour in her bowl.
