About this product

What is Cholodin?

Cholodin is a chewable dietary supplement that helps remedy various conditions in senior dogs. It has been recommended by veterinarians for age-related problems, including fatigue, poor coat, constipation, inappropriate urination, poor appetite, and poor mental performance.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:

  • Fights many more ailments than most supplements
  • Prevents inflammation in the liver and retains optimal liver function
  • Restores youthful health for senior dogs
  • Contains vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin), which is important for your dog's nervous system
  • It's an easily-fed chewable tablet

How does Cholodin work?

Cholodin contains choline (a nutrient in the vitamin B family), amino acids, vitamins, and minerals to help restore a youthful vigor in your pet. The tablets should be given on a daily basis, and can be fed by hand or crumbled and mixed with food.

Cautions:

If your dog shows increased neurological activity (hyperactivity, social agitation, muscular twitching), contact your veterinarian. Infrequently, pets on a choline loading regimen will show signs of increased neurological activity such as hyperactivity, social agitation, muscular twitching, etc. If these responses are noticed, cessation of tablet administration will quickly result in disappearance of these irregularities. After a period of 3 or 4 days, your pet may resume the same dosage, usually with no adverse reaction. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Life changing!!
I put my senior dog on this after he began showing severe signs of Canine Cognitive Dysfunction. We had previously used Senilife, which was no longer helping him. The only other medication we use to help with his new anxiety is Trazodone, but it wasn't able to help with his staring, hiding, fear of nighttime and spacing out. I felt like I was losing my best friend for the past two months, but after three days on this supplement he is back!! He is playing with toys again, loves going for walks, and is spending more time with my husband and I instead of sleeping all day and night. It is such a relief to have him alert and happy again, and I will be buying Cholodin from now on. Try it, it works wonders!!

Cholodin for dementia
My 15 year old Westie has shown remarkable improvement since I started using Cholodin for his dementia. I can't say that his turn around is completely due to the Cholodin, or if it is the Cholodin in addition to other things. I honestly don't know, but I am going to keep using it. He started getting a little spacey a few years ago - stopping and just staring off into space, not matter what was going on around him. I didn't know this was a possible symptom of dementia until recently, when some other alarming episodes started that prompted me to do research. In the last few months he has had bouts that made me think he had eaten psychedelic mushrooms in the yard (they grow around here) or that he was having strokes. These bouts lasted for hours, he would be trembling in fear, not recognizing us, alternating panting and trembling and behaving as if he wanted to get away but didn't know where to go. It was absolutely heartbreaking. These severe episodes stopped, but he was still not himself. He was easily startled (even though he's deaf now) and still seemed as if he wasn't sure who we were. I had to treat him as if he were a newly rescued dog that didn't know us. His behavior in the car changed. For all his life he had sat in the backseat on his little pad. Suddenly he was jumping in the front seat and pawing at the window. It seemed as if he wanted to get back out to keep looking for his family and home. I truly felt that he thought he was being abducted by strangers. I was almost ready to have him euthanized. I couldn't bear for him to live his life out in fear. So I did some research. I added the Cholodin to his diet (I've always made his dog food, but Choline was not in the supplements I had used previously) along with a little extra coconut oil or olive oil (he has no other health issues) and feed him 4 small meals a day. I also use the lowest dose hemp oil (CBD without THC) and melatonin at night. Along with diet I started to refocus his energy when I saw signs of anxiety. I would immediately try to interest him in playing, gentle senior dog versions of tug a war, or fetch, just rolling the ball on the rug a few feet. A few minutes of play seems to work it out. So I'm not a vet. He has seen his vet a few times, but his condition wasn't diagnosed and I have no explanation as to what caused it or why he is better. For several weeks he has been episode free, is no longer fearful and seems to be back to his old mellow dopey self.

Great for those seniors
I have had my 13 year old pug on this for a couple months. She seems to feel better. She is a limited active. Getting to go on walks again. Also she was having a lot of accidents in the house. That is getting much better too. I would highly recommend. I have also started my 7 year old on it too.

Life saving product.
Wish I could give this 10 stars. I have an 18 1/2 year old pekingese (I'm beyond grateful) and as i have no kids he really is like my child! His neurologist recommended these as he has begun to display clear cognitive issues. The most prominent being what is called "Sundowners Syndrome" Same as with elderly humans with Alzheimer's or dementia -as the sun sets, he becomes extremely agitated. Barks, paces, pants, will not settle for hours until he's worn himself completely out. It was painful and deeply upsetting to witness this night after night. We tried melatonin (helps some) but he's not allowed sedatives due to other health issues. I WISH his doc had recommended this much sooner, but better late than never. While he still shows some agitation at night, it is maybe 90% improved in such a short time. I'd say I saw an improvement by day 2 which is just mind blowing to me. I'm eternally grateful to see such a marked improvement in my senior baby and would highly recommend it to any pets who are beginning to have cognitive issues. **update** I had copied my original review from Amazon to share it here. Since the initial review, after several weeks he begun to act agitated again, this time even during the day. My instinct was to increase his dose. I'm SO glad I did not. I researched it and sure enough, the manufacturer says if this happens to stop the supplement for 3-4 days, then restart it, potentially at a lower dose. I did just this and thank heavens my pup seems good again! Did I mention how great this stuff is? I want to shout it from the rooftops!!
