Product Info
What is Heated Bolster Dog Bed?

The Heated Bolster Dog Bed is a perfect bed for dogs that love to curl when they sleep. Inside the bed is a heating pad which must be plugged into an electrical outlet to work. This dog bed can help keep your dog warm during the cold months, and the heater inside is also removable, making this a great bed to use all year long. This bed is so cozy cats will love it too!

Dogs & Cats

  • Dogs love to curl inside the oval shape
  • Bolster provides neck support
  • Low wattage (6 watts) helps conserve energy and prevents bed from becoming hot
  • Heater inside is removable for year-round use
  • Cover and heater are both removable to simplify washing
  • Cats love to sneak in and feel the warmth of this cozy oval bed too
  • Tested for safety
  • Available in 2 sizes
How it Works:

Once the Heated Bolster Dog Bed is plugged in, the heater inside is activated when your dog rests on top of the bed. The dual thermostat automatically warms to your dog's normal body temperature without becoming hot. This dog bed is useful during the warmer months because the heater inside is also removable. This bed is also great for cats.

Not recommended for dogs that like to chew aggressively. To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid. Always unplug from outlet when not in use. When using this product, make sure your dog has the option of sleeping on or off the bed.

How to Use
  • Carefully position heating pad between outer and inner lining and close the opening so your dog cannot remove the heating pad. When in use, check the pad to ensure proper positioning.
  • Turn the bed so the cord is exiting the back of the bed, away from the normal path traveled by your dog.
  • Always give your dog the choice to lie on OR off the heated bed.
  • Testing your new Heated Bolster Dog Bed: After operating 1-2 hours, place a pillow on your dog's new bed. After 15-20 minutes place your hand under the pillow to feel for warmth. The Heated Bolster Dog Bed is designed to provide mild radiant warmth but does not become hot.

When cleaning the bedding, unplug and remove the heater so you do not subject it to being immersed in liquids or cleaners.

Important Criteria to Consider When Selecting a Bed for Your Pet

Customer Reviews
Heated Bolster Dog Bed is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from too small Just opened the package and looked at my large bed. It's smaller than the listed measurements and that is outside edge to outside edge, not sleeping area. The large would be about right for a beagle or dachshund. My 53 pound hound would never fit. Don't know why they would claim it's big enough for a lab or shepherd. Will have to return. Might be great for a small dog, don't know, did not try it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bed I have a 12 year old lab mix who is 42 pounds and I ordered this large bed for Christmas. She loves it and has to share some for when the cat wants a turn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog loved it! Just got this bed yesterday. We got the large because you were sold out of the medium, and it was more than big enough for our long-hair jack russell. At first he seemed like he was going to try to rearrange the cushion, but then when we went to bed, he laid right down on it and slept soundly all night. He is 14 years old, and we have been having some trouble with him getting up at night, but last night, he was comfortable all night. This morning, when I went to leave, he usually follows me to the door, because he doesn't like being left alone, but he had gone back to bed, and never even followed me out to the living room! That is a first. I guess he likes the bed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not big enough for "large" This "large" size bed is listed as being good for breeds like retrievers and German shepherds! What?? I have a 50lb. mutt. She can barely get on it, let alone lie down on it! It's tiny!!!! This bed would be perfect for my friend's beagle - and this is the LARGE size, remember! There is a beagle lying on it in the photo of this product. Don't be fooled, that's how big the Large size is. I'm bummed b/c I was really looking forward to my old arthritic girl with a knee injury getting a new warm bed for the winter. I will have to return it and keep shopping. Also, the pad that has the heating pad in it is a slick nylon on the bottom and velcros into the main frame of the bed, so when the dog steps in with the first foot the whole cushion sort of slides b/c of the slick nylon underneath. Disappointing. I had high hopes after looking at lots of heated beds and the reviews for this product. But looking back now I see they are all written about small breeds. Yes, I know the dimensions are listed, but it seemed to be enough. It's not at all. This thing would be laughable next to an 80-100 lb. lab or shepherd!! And my old girl is 50lb and medium sized!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Purchase My little guy is a 3 year old, 9.5 lbs, miniature daschund. We have been through 2 beds recently, a bucket and memory foam bed. When this bed came in the mail, as soon as I opened it, he jumped into the bed, curled up and placed his had on the bolster, which was at the perfect height. After the heat kicked in, he started to snooze away. It has removable liner, perfect for cleaning. The heat pad can also be removed, so the bed can be used for warmer days. The filling is still enough to be comfortable after the heater is removed. As the heater needs to be plugged in, there is a electrical wire that comes out of the bed, because of this, if you're pets are chewers, I would not recommend this bed for them. Otherwise, this was a wonderful purchase and worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Softest Bed ever I received my new bed for my little girl , Hope , a papillion mix breed about 7 lbs. When I opened the box and put it on the floor for her , she was so excited and hopped over the side to get in it. The bed is the large size so she has plenty of room to stretch out and lay however she wants to. I love the fact that it has a removable heating pad on it as well ,just in case its a chilly night here in South Florida ! It really is so soft ! I wish Pet Meds had one in people size ! I would recommend everyone to get one for their furry babies ! thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bed We had to get our dog out of our bed and on her own. It's always been a struggle until I bought this bed. She absolutely love the heat and curling up in this bed. She sleeps in it day and night. The only con is that she's laid on it so much the stuffing has gotten flat. I just need to get an old pillow or blanket to stuff in it for her. I still recommend it to everyone!

No, unfortunately we do not carry a heated dog bed for an outside dog, as these need to be plugged in to produce heat.

is it safe for an older incontinent dog to use heated bed?

My 14 year old cocker spaniel sometimes is incontinent when he sleeps, want a heated bed due to his arthritis, concerned about safety with heated electric bed.
Asked by: Sterling
There is no reason to deny him the comfort the heating pad provides. My elderly cat had the same issue. I would put a towel over the heating pad and change it at least once a day. I set aside a few old towels that I would use and wash just for this purpose. The cover and heater are removable for easy washing. The heater cannot be immersed in water when cleaning. Putting a towel or extra padding that will absorb the urine will solve the issue of safety provided you are diligent about changing the wet materials. Good Luck to you and your pet.

Dogs sleep under our bed

We have 2 Blue Heelers and they sleep under our bed. I'd like to get a bed for them that they feel comfortable sleeping in that ISN'T under our bed but I don't want to waste money if they won't sleep in the beds I buy. Anyone else have a similiar situation? Thought about getting the bed with a "canopy" type cover to simulate the security of sleeping under our bed but I just don't know...

You may want to look @ This should give them the cover they are looking for while sleeping.

heated bolster bed size

I have a 72 lb pit bull, named Ceasar who loves to circle up when he sleeps, i like this bed with the heating unit because he's 7 yrs old and his joints are stiff in the cold and damp weather. I'm just not sure if this one is big enough for him. What do you think ? Or do you advise I purchase the ortho bed.
Asked by: Lynn
Hi, Your Furry friend should be fine with the large one however the measurements are 31" L x 24" W x 5.5" H. If you are still unsure I would suggest to measure your Furry Friend to determine if this would work for him.

does this bed(product#60125) come with a pillow? if it doesn't, how much is the pillow?

Asked by: pompom
The bed has an attached "pillow." This pillow has a zipper opening where you can take the heat pad out. If you chose to take the heat pad out, the pillow is still well stuffed for your pet's comfort.
