What is Dog Worms 3?

PetMeds Dog Worms 3 is an FDA-approved broad spectrum de-wormer for dogs and puppies. It is the most comprehensive OTC (no prescription required) de-wormer on the market, and is used to safely control and treat the three most common worms in dogs: roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms. The chewable tablets are pork liver flavored, and are available in 2 count and 12 count packages.

For:

Dogs (12+ weeks of age, weighing 6+ lbs)

Benefits:

  • Protects your pooch by controlling and treating the most common canine intestinal worms such as roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms.
  • Comes in easy-to-administer pork liver flavored chewable tablet.
  • Flexible dosage to adapt to pet size.
  • Safe and effective.
  • FDA approved.
  • Made in the USA

How does Dog Worms 3 work?

Each Dog Worms 3 chewable tablet contains pyrantel pamoate and praziquantel. Pyrantel pamoate causes the parasite to lose grip of the intestinal wall, which makes it pass out of the system naturally. Praziquantel damages the parasite's skin internally, so the parasite disintegrates and is removed by your dog's immune system.

Cautions:

The safety of Dog Worms 3 in breeding dogs and pregnant bitches has not been determined. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. Side effects that may occur can include vomiting, loose stools (with or without blood) and decreased activity following treatment. If you notice these signs, contact a veterinarian. If accidental overdose occurs, contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency clinic. In the event of accidental ingestion by humans, contact a physician immediately. In case of ingestion by humans, contact a physician immediately. Physicians may contact a Poison Control Center for advice concerning ingestion by humans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great medicine Bought this medicine a couple of weeks ago for my Great Dane. I didn't have money to get to a vet but I remembered my mom told me about this website and it was a life saver. Her worms are completely gone but I still check her stool every now and then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog Worms 3 I've always cleaned up after my dog. I don't leave feces in a tie out area, I don't feed table scraps, and until the past few years, I didn't have to deal with other dogs coming into the yard, drinking/eating from her bowls, or defecating in her play area. So basically, limited exposure. My big concern has been wild animals or stray dogs bringing parasites or disease to my pets. As far as I know, my current dog has never had parasites. Although she's on a tie out or in her dog run while I'm at work, She's had full run of the farm, timber, and ponds for most of her life. She's almost 14 and acts like she's 2. Living in the country, I've had dogs that got contaminated with hook worms, tape worms, and round worms at different times over the years. It's very debilitating and sometimes difficult to determine what the problem is in older dogs. When I've taken pets to the vet, they were prescribed a wormer with the identical ingredients as Dog Worms 3 (but the price was much higher). I consider this to be a maintenance wormer. My dog gets wormed, I wait two weeks and apply Adventix II, wait two weeks and worm, wait two weeks and apply Adventix II and etc. My dog is outside all day long and usually chooses to come in at night. We've never had a problem with ticks, fleas, or wormy parasites. Even though we've had visitors who brought pets with them that had all of these problems. She's never had skin or intestinal issues, and is a super healthy dog. I feed her good dog food and buy all her vet supplies products from 1-800-petmeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product I bought this for my 11 year old 92 pound mix breed after I noticed he had flat white worms. After only one dose there are no more worms and he is feeling so much better. This stuff is amazing and at such a great price! Saves a whole lot of money on a vet bill and prescription!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from seems to work... My dog has a bad case of hookworms.. she is an rescue. At first, I wasnt sure what was happening to her. She was vomiting blood and stool with blood come to find out she has hookworms! doctor gave me 6 doses for panacur c. she still had hookworms but symptoms stopped. then the doc gave me 4 pills of drontal. her stool started to have blood again! so i guess drontal wasnt doing anything.. i decided to do some research on 1800petmeds. came across this product with good reviews mainly on tapeworms. but i gave it a try since it says also treat hookworms. so far no blood stool.. i bought 12pills so i will give it to her again in 2 weeks to make sure. i also have a cone on her in case of re-infection

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a relief We just got this dachshund puppy. Not even 2 days of having her. I notice the rice like flakes on her fur. At the time, I didn't think anything of it. Never had a tapeworm problem with my 17 year old Doxie. Well, it got worse. Shes 10 weeks old. I knew if I tried to schedule her a vet appt. We wouldn't be seen right away. So for my family's sake, I came across this product on Pet Meds. I read the reviews. I felt like I was making the right choice. I did the 2 day shipping too. It was on time. I gave my pup the pill and she chomped down on it like a champ. Which was surprising considering she wasn't really eating. 9 hours pass by and there was a giant tapeworm in her excrement. This thing was really long. She had no side effects. Plus right after she relieved herself. She was an energetic puppy and really hungry. Thank you Pet Meds for the product, fast delivery, and the dog biscuit. Very pleasant experience. I did get the 12 count package just in case she gets reinfected or my older doxie gets it. We are prepared. Sidenote: I kept my puppy isolated from my other dog and cleaned up the confined area with diluted bleach. Plus, I picked up the droppings outside and sprayed for fleas in my backyard. I vacuumed and washed my couch cushions and her doggy bed, toys, and crate. I mean this is a serious matter. You need to sanitize your house and yard thoroughly. Get rid of the intermediate host (flea). Both dogs did receive a flea treatment too. I have a 18 month old toddler. I needed to take these extreme measures. In the end, I think it helped being so paranoid

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One-dose treatment that really works This product got rid of the problem and there were minimal side effects for my dog. I appreciate the easy dosing - and the fact that my dog liked the flavor of the meds, so giving the medicine was like giving a treat. I hope we never have this problem again, but I'd buy this if the worms came back.

How often do you deworm dog?

Asked by: JulieG
It is recommended by the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists to deworm puppies every 2 weeks until 3 months of age, starting at 2 weeks old. Once a month from 3 to 6 months of age. After 6 months, follow adult recommendations. For adult dogs deworming should be done regularly at least twice a year taking into consideration the exposure to parasites. For newly acquired dogs worm immediately then repeat after 2 weeks. Keep in mind if your pet is on heartworm prevention, many heartworm preventatives also prevent parasites.

Your furry friends must be over 6lbs and 12 weeks of age or older to use this product. So it is best to weigh your pet before purchasing the product. We also offer Panacur C Canine Dewormer which is safe for dogs 6 weeks of age or older and at least 1lbs.
