Directions:
  • Bayer Tapeworm Dewormer Tablets for Cats may be given directly in the mouth or offered crumbled and mixed with a small amount of food.
  • You should weigh your cat to make sure you are using the right number of tablets.
  • Administer to cats and kittens older than 6 weeks only as directed in the Dosage chart below.
  • RETREATMENT: Steps should be taken to control fleas and rodents on the premises in order to prevent reinfection; otherwise, retreatment will be necessary. This is especially true in cases of tapeworms transmitted by fleas (Dipylidium caninum) where reinfection is almost certain to occur if you do not remove fleas from your pet and the immediate environment. If reinfection occurs, tapeworm segments may be observed within one month of the initial treatment.
Tip:

Use Home & Yard Flea Treatments to control fleas in and around your home. This will help prevent tapeworm reinfection.

Hello, so my kitten is about 18 weeks old I would say around or under 4 pounds I gave him half a pill like it said, do I give it to home every day? Or just a one time thing? I'm not sure how it works, there are no instructions on this question...

Hi my cat weighs 10 lbs how often do I give him a pill  do I give him a pill every 3 weeks for 3 times since there's only 3 pills or just one time and that's? I think I'm supposed to give him one pill every three weeks For 3 times until all used up?

Asked by: Crazy cat lady
Thank you for your question. Kittens need to be wormed every two weeks until twelve weeks of age, then monthly until six months of age. After six months all cats need to be wormed every three months for effective protection. A 10lbs adult cat would get 1 tablet every three months of this particular dewormer.

My cat has worms. She is thin. Do worms cause this? She has a great appetite for food and water. Also, when I treat her, should I also treat my other cat and my 10 lb. 4oz. Yorkie?

Asked by: PRINSMUZZER
Worms can cause your cat to loss weight while still having a good appetite. Your cats belly may actually seem a little swollen as well, due to the worms. I would recommend speaking with your veterinarian regarding treating your other animals. Your veterinarian may be able to do a fecal exam and determine the need for treatment.
