NOTE: After reading previous reviews, I feel I must say, it’s a medication designed to work over time and needs to be taken regularly to keep working. It’s NOT designed to be a one and done pill or an as needed pill, as it needs to get into your pet’s system in order to benefit from it. AND continuously administered to keep benefitting from it. I rescue senior cats from my local humane society and took in a 16 yr old black cat named Sweet Pea. I have 3 other cats and, after the transition period, he was urinating through my home on my rugs and aggressive to my other cats. I took him for full blood work and the results were fine so my vet recommended I try Anxitane. It took about 5-7 days for me to see the 180 turn around on Sweet Pea. It’s a miracle!! After a yr of him being aggressive and urinating, he doesn’t urinate anymore (outside his box) and he’s really living up to his name. He’s been taking it for almost a yr now and still doing great! There was a time that I was getting lax on giving him his regular twice a day pills and he relapsed into urinating and being aggressive again. So I make sure to give it to him regularly. He’s such a happy, sweet boy when he’s on his “happy pills”. Aren’t we all?! Hehe!

We tried this on our beagle during Trick or Treating hours on Halloween and unfortunately the doorbell, the people outside, and the all the noises still made him anxious.

I have a rescued coonhound with separation anxiety and thunder anxiety. Usually I use a low dose of herbs that do a good job for him daily. But I switched to this for a family move out of state. I continued for about a month in the new location and I think it really helped him adjust. Didn't seem to do too much for thunder though, it just sort of took the edge off his overall anxiety. I didn't keep him on long term as he seemed slightly numb (nothing like a prescrip med though). I would use again temporarily for major life changes.

i received this for my min pin from my vet and she a lot more relaxed. she doesnt shake all the time and she not scared of the world anymore. i love this product.

I had a very anxious miniature dachshund who is a totally different dog after taking Anxitane. I wouldn't say he's a calm dog, but he is much less fearful and is able to walk on a leash now. I am very happy with this medicine.

I've been having problems with my cat developing bladder issues/infections and the vet and I both believe it's due to stress--my husband doesn't care for cats and my cat doesn't care for my husband. Nemo also used to hide a lot when my husband was around. I definitely see a change in his behavior--he's less scared, doesn't hide as much, likes to cuddle more, more relaxed, AND he hasn't had a bladder issue since I started using Anxitane. I give him 1/2 a pill once a day. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

I bought this for my 10 year old 50 lb flat coated retriever mix who shakes like mad when at the vet. I also have a 2 year old 55 lb golden retriever who came from a traumatic home and has issues with men and some noises. To help them both out, I was told by my vet to try this. Well, the flat coated retriever had no change in behavior when taken as directed. The golden, however, has been much more relaxed since taking this. By the way, I give them as needed- not everyday.

Didn't work great for my dog but that doesn't mean a lot. It takes sedatives just to groom and clip his nails...90lb German Shepherd, 1 year old.
