Muricin Ointment is a water removable topical treatment that treats bacterial skin infections. Muricin Ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of canine bacterial infections of the skin, including superficial pyoderma, caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius. Muricin Ointment requires a prescription from your veterinarian.
Dogs
Muricin contains the active ingredient mupirocin. Mupirocin is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Muricin is not for ophthalmic use. Safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined. Due to a potential hazard for nephrotoxicity due to polyethylene glycol content of the product base, exercise care in use for extensive deep lesions where absorption of large quantities of polyethylene glycol is possible.
Muricin Ointment

Muricin Ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of canine bacterial infections of the skin, including superficial pyoderma, caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius. It requires a prescription from your veterinarian.
Tell your veterinarian if your pet has ever had an allergic reaction to this medication. Tell your veterinarian if your pet is pregnant or lactating.
Muricin Ointment should be applied twice daily to the affected area.
No adverse reactions have been reported with this product. If a skin reaction such as irritation should occur, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
Give the missed dose as soon as you remember during the same day. However, if you don't remember until the next day, skip the dose you missed and give only the next regularly scheduled dose. Do not give a double dose of the medication.
Contact your veterinarian or seek emergency veterinary treatment.
Avoid contact with eyes and mouth when applying Muricin to your pet.
Mupirocin, the active ingredient of Muricin, has no known interactions with other drugs.
Wash your hands after applying Muricin.
