MilbeMite is an otic solution for the safe, easy, and effective treatment of ear mite infestations in cats and kittens. The effectiveness of MilbeMite is maintained throughout the life cycle of the ear mite. The low dosage volume makes it easier to administer to your cat. Milbemite Otic Solution for cats is available in foil pouches that contain two 0.25 ml tubes of solution, one for each ear. MilbeMite requires a prescription from your veterinarian.
Cats (4 weeks of age or older)
The active ingredient in MelbeMite is milbemycin oxime, which disrupts nerve transmission in ear mites leading to the death of ear mites.
For use in cats only. The safe use of MilbeMite Otic Solution in cats used for breeding purposes, during pregnancy, or in lactating cats, hasn't been evaluated.
MilbeMite
milbemycin oxime
MilbeMite is only for cats and kittens over 4 weeks of age and requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It safely and effectively treats ear mites in your cat and is available in single-dose tubes. There are no reported side effects. MilbeMite should be administered topically into the external ear canal.
Tell your veterinarian if your cat is pregnant, lactating, or breeding. Consult with your veterinarian if your cat is hypersensitive to milbemycin oxime.
The solution should be administered topically as one tube per ear into the external ear for a single treatment. After opening the tubs, squeeze the tube to administer the contents of each tube into each external ear canal. Massage the base of the ear for optimal distribution. Cleaning of the external ear canal prior to treatment may be performed, but isn't necessary for effectiveness.
No adverse reactions caused by MilbeMite have been reported in controlled effectiveness studies in adult cats and kittens over 4 weeks old.
Usually only one dose is needed, but if your veterinarian prescribes more than one dose, give it as soon as you remember.
Contact your veterinarian immediately.
Avoid giving to pregnant, breeding, or lactating cats. Do not give to cats that are hypersensitive to milbemycin oxime.
Talk to your veterinarian before giving any prescription or over the counter medications.
Repeat treatment one time if necessary or as directed by your veterinarian.
