This made no difference in my dog's ear infection
This is the first time I've ever seen this stuff and it is a nightmare to use. You have to refrigerate it and it is thick and white and takes forever to drip into my dog's ear canal. On top of that it seemed to make my dog's ear infection worse and every day I had to clean up a yellow ooze that came out of her ears because of this stuff.

Works for my ESS
Plagued w springer ear, my male was using zymox for chronic yeast infections. Then he started getting crusty sores on his skin. Thinking it might be diet related the health pet food shop where they are groomed, suggested going grain free. His ears got much worse. Went to the vet, ears were cultured. Expensive yes but we got great diagnosis. Now using Baytril and antibiotic for three different bacteria. Dog is now on hydrolyzed proteins food only. He loves it and he is ears are much better. Thank goodness. Our other Springer has had zero ear problems.

part 4 of4 part therapy
dog had two issues ear infection and severe drainage issue on ear flap. Dog is a Golden Retriever, known for ear issues, and is consistantly in water( several times daily) fresh spring running creek. Area Cleaned of dead tissue depris, hair trimmed to the skin, exposing inflamation. Cleaned 2 times daily with Clensing pad (DOUXO, Chlorhexidine 3% PS PAD). Apply Ointment on ear Flap DERMALONE OINTMENT after cleaning with pad. (wipe off excess, will stain furniture) Treatment for ear canal; Clean with Saline Solution, used TRIEDTA. again 2 times daily treatment. PART 4 Apply BAYTRIL to Ear Canal. Be careful when massaging any products into ear canal, don't be too rough. Apply all products LIBERALLY. don't skimp. after the 2nd day of treatment you should notice considerably better condition of skin around dog's ear. I did. MOST IMPORTANT- THIS IS a 2 -PERSON JOB one holds the dog the other applies treatment.

This product is working.
Our vet recommended this product because of the severe ear infection that Bella had. They did not carry it at their veterinary service. While Bella definitely does not like have her ears "invaded", she is truly doing better. The vet has recommended that we bring her back for a check-up before we run out of medicine, which we plan to do.

Breed Poodle
Malassezia and Pseudomonas
My new foster poodle had a yeast (Malassezia) and Pseudomonas ear infection (both ears). The vet took a sample from the ear and viewed it under the microscope. The combination of enrofloxacin and silver sulferdiazine is currently the best way to wipe out the Pseudomonas. I did have to fill the ear canals to make sure the med got deep into the ear. Because there is no steroid in this, I was not worried about an overdose-- the higher the local concentration of the enrofloxacin, the better for the Pseudomonas. Silver sulfadiazine fights the yeast. Fantastic product. Look up the scientific research online before taking the anecdotal advice of the negative reviews. If your dog has a Pseudomonas ear infection, use a lot of medication for an extended period of time because you must wipe out all of the colonies in the ear, 100% or your dog will end up with resistant bacteria and possibly long term problems and loss of hearing.
