Tylan is a macrolide antibiotic that can be used in farm animals, including chickens, turkeys, swine, and honey bees to treat bacterial infections. Tylan is also known to be prescribed to dogs and cats to treat chronic diarrhea. Tylan is available as a water-soluble powder that's easy to administer and requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

Tylan contains the ingredient, tylosin tartrate, which helps prevent the reproduction of bacteria.

Tylan can be used to treat a variety of bacterial infections in a variety of farm animals and companion pets. It requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is available as a water-soluble powder.
Tell your vet if your pet has ever had an allergic reaction to tylosin tartrate or other antibiotics. Tell your veterinarian if your pet is pregnant, lactating, or breeding.
Tylan should be given to your pet exactly as directed by your veterinarian. The soluble powder should be dissolved in the appropriate amount of water. To reach the desired concentration of 250 mg/gallon, mix 1 jar of Tylan Soluble in 3 gallons plus 13 oz of water. To reach the desired concentration of 851 mg/gallon, mix 5 jars of Tylan Soluble in 4 gallons plus 77 oz of water. To reach the desired concentration of 1,419 mg/gallon, mix 9 jars of Tylan Soluble in 5 gallons of water. To reach the desired concentration of 2,000 mg/gallon, mix 10 jars of Tylan Soluble in 3 gallons plus 115 oz of water. Give the Tylan and water solution to your pet to drink.
Potential side effects of Tylan can include anorexia and diarrhea.
Give the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume a regular dosing schedule.
If an overdose is suspected, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Avoid touching the powder with bare skin as exposure to tylosin may cause a rash in humans.
Before giving your pet Tylan, tell your veterinarian if your pet is being given another antibiotic (for the same or a different infection), Talk to your veterinarian or pharmacist before giving your pet any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
Make sure soluble is completely dissolved into the water before giving to your pet.
