Torsemide is a loop diuretic indicated for the treatment of fluid retention in pets with heart failure, liver disease, or kidney disease. It may also be prescribed for other purposes. Torsemide requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

How does Torsemide work?

Torsemide is a loop diuretic that encourages the kidneys to excrete fluids and salt from the body, causing increased urination, to aid in the treatment of edema associated with liver failure, congestive heart failure, and kidney disease, and other conditions.

Cautions:

Torsemide causes increased urination which can lead to dehydration. Always make sure your pet has access to fresh, clean water. As with all medications, allergic reaction may occur. Seek emergency veterinary attention if your pet experiences hives, facial swelling, inability to urinate, or difficulty breathing.

Torsemide causes increased urination which can lead to dehydration. Avoid allowing your pet to become dehydrated. Make sure your pet always has access to fresh, clean water.
