I credit this diet for keeping my dog around longer than expected
Sammy had been on this diet for at least three years. He hasn't had those bad kidney numbers in his lab tests since starting the diet. As a small dog, 9-11 lbs, I think it was vital for him stay on the right diet, especially after my vet became concerned about his quality of life. Since that time, my vet has been pleased with his recovery and credits the diet. Sammy recently passed but he made it to 17 years and except for losing his sight and hearing, was still hanging on pretty well.

Dog loves it!
My dog loves this food. I mix it in with her dry KD. My only complaint is I do wish it came in the smaller sized cans. My little girl can't possibly eat all this in 4-5 days before I have to toss out the rest of the can.

Dog Loves it!
I am writing also to bring up the review of the one star. My dog would not eat anything while she was in the worst stages for renal disease. She slowly got better, but the first thing she ate was the Hill's KD - and she loves it. She wants more but I have to stop her. I am going to ask my vet if I can increase the amount of food I give her as she likes it so much.

My dog never liked the lamb
I have been using Hill's products for my senior dog with kidney issues. He loved the stews. I have had to switch him to the lamb because the stews have been out of stock for over 1 year for me. He won't eat the lamb by itself. I have to mash it up and add pieces of chicken that I cook for him and thats the only way he will eat it.
I wish I had an alternative

My dog loves it. Not all dogs are the same....
I'm leaving a review simply because of the ridiculous 1star review the other person left. My older dog is a picky eater and didn't like the dry kibble of the kidney care, but I can't get this wet food out of the can fast enough for her. She likes the texture better than the chicken stew and would probably eat the whole can in a single bite if I would let her. It's easy to break up the food with a spoon and she continues to lick the bowl long after the food is gone. I'm just happy to see her so excited to eat again. So maybe the experience of one person with their dog won't be the experience of all dogs. Goodness. My only downside is the cost of it and much my dog requires a day.
