- The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment.
- But a good place to start is with the below guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.
- Making the Switch to Pro Plan:
- Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dogs please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively.
- This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
Tip:
Use a standard 8 oz measuring cup when feeding Pro Plan.

The best senior dog food
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog has been eating this food for a few years now and when I initially made the switch it was because she was entering her senior years and I wanted to find something that was appropriate for her age. I thought she was doing excellent already but after switching to this food, her play drive and energy levels skyrocketed! Her overall health and well-being has just been incredible and I really feel this food plays a big part in that

Great for Seniors, but small kibble size
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Bright minds line of products. They help keep my senior dogs mentally sharp and physically comfortable. Highly recommend for dogs over 7 that are slowing down. I wish they would bring back the large breed version of the bright minds 7 though, I preferred the larger kibble size and the macros better in the Large breed version for my Borzoi. The kibbles in this product are very small and the macros are a little rich for a XL or giant breed.

18 year old senior dog food
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had my 18 year old senior on this food for 2 years now. Appreciate the extra fish oil and glucosamine plus brain support for my senior dog. This will be my last bag of food for him since his teeth demand a softer food now but it has worked well to keep him comfortable and mentally sound (no dementia)

Not a bad product but more variety is needed
I wish there were more flavor options. My dog is now refusing to eat this - normally she inhales her food the second it's in her bowl. We're at the end of the first bag and have an unopened second bag waiting... previously she was eating Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Beef & Rice and LOVED it.

Vet Rec for Canine Cognitive Decline
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog has been on this for close to 3 years, which wad recommended for the vet after he started showing signs of canine cognitive decline (doggy dementia). I can’t say for certain, but I do believe it has helped. He still loves every bowl and even sometimes will indicate he’s ready to eat (even though he finished dinner recently!).
