How does Carprovet Chewable Tablets work?

While Carprovet is not a cure for osteoarthritis, it can relieve the pain and inflammation of OA and improve your dog's mobility. Response varies from dog to dog but can be quite dramatic. In most dogs, improvement can be seen in a matter of days. If Carprovet is discontinued or not given as directed, your dog's pain and inflammation may come back

Carprovet should not be used in dogs exhibiting previous hypersensitivity to carprofen. Periodic follow up is important for all dogs during administration of any NSAID.

What should I discuss with my veterinarian before giving Carprovet Chewable Tablets to my pet?

All dogs should undergo a thorough history and physical examination before initiation of NSAID therapy. Appropriate laboratory tests to establish hematological and serum biochemical baseline data prior to, and periodically during, administration of any NSAID should be considered.

How should Carprovet Chewable Tablets be given?

Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual response.

What are the potential side effects of Carprovet Chewable Tablets?

Adverse reactions may include decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, dark or tarry stools, increased water consumption, increased urination, pale gums due to anemia, yellowing of gums, skin or white of the eye due to jaundice, lethargy, incoordination, seizure, or behavioral changes.

What happens if I miss giving a dose of Carprovet Chewable Tablets?

Give the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if is almost time for the next regularly scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and give the next one as directed. Do not give a double dose of the medication.

What happens if I overdose my pet on Carprovet Chewable Tablets?

What should I avoid while giving Carprovet Chewable Tablets to my pet?

Drug compatibility should be monitored closely in patients requiring additional therapy. Such drugs commonly used include cardiac, anticonvulsant and behavioral medications. It has been suggested that treatment with carprofen may reduce the level of inhalant anesthetics needed.

What other drugs will affect Carprovet Chewable Tablets?

Concomitant use of carprofen with other anti-inflammatory drugs, such as other NSAIDs or corticosteroids, should be avoided because of the potential increase of adverse reactions.
