Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same medication! I've unfortunately had to have my cattle dog on Proin for a few years now. It is much cheaper to buy this online for a 3 month supply versus what my veterinarian can supply me with. Keeps Ginger from wetting herself while sleeping and she doesn't have to feel ashamed about something she can't control. Glad that 1-800-Petmeds had this in supply when my normal online retailer was currently out of stock! Just as quick as the other option with shipping and with communication with the veterinarian for the prescription! Good to know that there is more than one affordable place to get medication for your pets online!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 6 years ago when we got Bella from "Lollypop Farm" she was 4years old. After the first week of her going all over the house because of no control we were ready to take her back. Then she went to the vet for a physical and the doctor recommended Proin. She has been with us 6 years now and she asks to go out and never makes a "mistake". She is a happy, loving mini beagle and we love her.

What is Proin?

Proin is a medication that is used to relieve the symptoms of urinary incontinence in dogs. Proin requires a prescription from your veterinarian who is in the best position to evaluate if your pet will benefit from using this drug.

Proin is unavailable to be shipped to Oregon.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:

  • Is a supplement for urinary incontinence in dogs
  • Ensures sustained phenylpropanolamine levels in the blood stream and may help reduce the conditions often associated with high levels of phenylpropanolamine such as: decreased appetite, changes in heart rate, increased blood pressure, hyperexcitability

How it Works:

Proin contains the active ingredient phenylpropanolamine, an adrenergic agent that works by tightening the bladder sphincter muscle, which helps to control urine leakage.

Cautions:

Don't give Proin with ephedrine or epinephrine, and don't give it within two weeks of using a MAOi, such as Anipryl, selegiline or a Preventic Collar. Possible side effects can occur, including restlessness, or loss of appetite, difficulty breathing, hives, and swelling of the lips, tongue, or face.
