When do I use Lactoquil® versus Endurosyn®?

Lactoquil® is a daily probiotic soft chew specially formulated to support ongoing digestive health maintenance for dogs. If your dog has a history of a sensitive stomach or seems to suffer from on and off again GI upset, talk to your veterinarian to determine if your dog would be a good candidate for Lactoquil®.
Endurosyn® is a 3-day probiotic oral gel for short-term use in support of digestive health during times of stress or transition. Pets that suffer from GI upset when boarding, traveling, training, or going to the vet are good candidates for Endurosyn®.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

What is the difference between Lactoquil® and Endurosyn®?

Lactoquil® is a daily probiotic soft chew to be used for ongoing digestive health support for dogs only. It contains high levels of live, viable, naturally occurring beneficial bacteria (like some yogurts) to assist in healthy digestion and absorption.
Endurosyn® is not designed for long term use but for short stints of stress or transition (traveling, kenneling, etc.) that can cause GI upset. In addition to probiotics, it contains additional ingredients such as electrolytes, vitamins and concentrated energy sources to help support the protective layers of the bowel as well as maintain proper intestinal pH.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

Can I use Lactoquil® and Endurosyn® together?

There are no known contraindications, but always tell your veterinarian about all the medications and supplements that you give your dog.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

What could cause my pet's normal gastrointestinal (GI) system to be disrupted?

A normal GI system has a healthy balance of microorganisms, but your pet's system can be disrupted by:

  • Dietary changes or indiscretions
  • Stress from boarding, travel or hospitalization
  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Deworming
  • Age
  • Food sensitivities
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

Can I use Lactoquil® for my cat?

No. Lactoquil® is labeled for use in dogs only.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

Why does Lactoquil® contain several strains of bacteria?

The GI tract has a complex, intermixing array of beneficial bacteria, called the microflora. It is maintained in a careful balance that coats and protects the layers of the intestines. Under certain conditions, gaps or breaks in the microflora appear creating opportunities for microbial imbalances to occur. This often leads to GI upset and distress. A probiotic with multi-strains of bacteria is able to utilize the strengths of each specific strain to promote proper gut flora balance.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

How should Lactoquil® be stored?

Store at room temperature in a location your dog can't access.
Lactoquil® is packaged in a sealed jar within plastic twist-tie bags and should be kept sealed and stored at room temperature when not in use. It does not require refrigeration or any other special storage.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

When should Lactoquil® be given?

Lactoquil® can be given during or after meal time.  Provide fresh water at all times.
Feeding Directions:

  • Puppies and Dogs under 60 lb.......................................................1 chew/day
  • Dogs over 60 lb.............................................................................2 chews/day
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.

Can I give my dog more than the recommended amount?

No. Please follow the feeding recommendations as listed on the product label.
