Zymox Plus Advanced Formula Otic Enzymatic Solution with Hydrocortisone has the Zymox LP3 Enzyme System. Each enzyme has its own unique properties that, when combined, becomes a powerful antimicrobial formula. Glucose Oxidase is an enzyme that works with Lactoperoxidase to form antimicrobial ions. Lactoferrin is an iron-binding protein that inhibits microorganism growth by depriving them of iron. Lactoperoxidase is a milk derived enzyme that is combined in a system along with glucose oxidase to form the hypothiocyanate or hypoiodite ion to oxidize the metabolic pathways of microorganisms. Lysozyme is an enzyme that effectively kills harmful bacteria by disrupting the formation of the cell wall. The anti-inflammatory action of hydrocortisone reduces itching and inflammation. Zymox Plus Advanced Formula Otic Enzymatic Solution with Hydrocortisone may not work if used with other topical ear medications or cleansers.

DO NOTclean your pet's ears before or during use. Doing so will disrupt the enzyme system. Do not use this product when using any other topical ear medications or cleaners. Works great!

Save your money on other products and use this if your pet's inner ears are chronically infected causing them pain, itching, discomfort and odor. It is the only product we have found that truly works, but only if it's used consistently. Even the vet told us that she could use anesthesia on our pet and clean all of this out but it would more than likely return. That would be a huge expense that wouldn't solve the issue. We also find that the scratching irritates the inside part of our pet's ear, so we rub on that area Neosporin + Pain Relief (or store brand). The two make a good combination.

Can’t go wrong with this stuff!!

After tons of research, this is the stuff you want to use! And in most cases if u take your dog to vet for ear issues (excluding ear drum rupture), THIS is what they’ll prescribe for 7 days. My 14yr old wiener dog had stinky ears always, they would only smell good for a day after cleaning. He would itch & head shake. Used this once a day for 7 days. Ears don’t stink, he don’t itch. It’s a unique formula -just be sure NOT to clean ears few days before AND during use of this. It’s kinda gel-like so goes in easy, rub ears after application, wipe any excess drips outside. Couldn’t find cheaper than $30 but well worth it. There’s several types they make, look at website for what type is recommended. If your not sure if it’s fungal or bacterial, get the PLUS. Covers all bases. Only exception is for pregnant or breast feeding dog, but they make a version for that also. Then follow up with ear cleaner they make, called Epi-Opic. Smells good.

My dog has had a chronic ear infections her whole life 12 years and I tried this because I cant afford a $475 vet visit so I ordered this and it immediately reduced her inflammation and irritation. she stopped rubbing her ears on stuff and digging at her ears instantly. I've used one bottle now and the swelling went down so I bought another bottle hoping it will keep her comfortable and hopefully clear up the infection totally. I also ordered some 1800petmeds ear wash to clean up her sticky ears (Zymox leaves a sticky film since your not supposed to clean the ears while using it ) and wait a day or two then re start the Zymox plus....She (Meadow) is feeling a lot better yay happy puppy...I have already ordered more to be prepared. I recommend getting 2 bottles for chronic ear infection or 1 for maintenance. But due your own research and asking a vet for advice wont hurt.

Excellent product!

My cat has had problems in only his right ear ever since I brought him home from the pound as a kitten. The ear tested positive for yeast, but no pests. After 6 trips to three different vets who proscribed antibiotics both orally, as ear drops, and finally both in conjunction - his ear would get better, then much worse, better again, then back with a vengeance. I had almost lost hope. I bought this product hoping to at least bring the poor guy some relief with the hydrocortisone - and it worked like a miracle. My cat has his own door and goes out frequently during the spring through fall, and his ear will have zero problems in the winter, when he's mainly inside and dry. So, when Spring rolls around, I pull this out and watch his ears - as soon as it begins to attract dirt and he starts scratching, I begin these drops. (again, only the one side for whatever reason - maybe he is better at cleaning one side of his head or sleeps on one side more often). During the height of Summer, when he spends nights in the moist Summer air, I use the drops as often as once every four days or so - again, watching any appearance of dirt. Gradually, as Fall descends, I can use less and less until the next year. So now I am ordering some without the hydrocortisone to see if those drops will maintain his ear AND mitigate his exposure to the cortisone for when he truly needs that drug. Fingers crossed! I will ALWAYS have this around. Excellent product!! I'm going to suggest my vets carry it.
