Does it have long-term side effects?

In target animal safety studies, EtoGesic Tablets were well tolerated clinically when given at the label dosage for periods as long as one year.

Laboratory studies in anesthetized dogs and clinical field studies have demonstrated that carprofen is well tolerated in dogs after oral administration.

Cautions

EtoGesic should not be used on cats or pregnant or nursing animals. EtoGesic can increase the risk of serious effects of the stomach and intestines, including bleeding or perforation. At the first sign of anything abnormal, stop using EtoGesic and call your veterinarian.

Contact the veterinarian if the pet has bloody, black or tarry stools, blood in vomit, or swelling or rapid weight gain due to fluid retention. Do not use on cats.

Destiny has been on this product 14 of her 16 years due to a rare swelling of her paw. Now that she is older, it really takes the edge off. Wish more vets would reccomend it, just safer for the animals
