Rated 5 out of 5 by from It did the trick! I have been using Revolution for about a year or so every month. My cat doesn't go outside but she kept getting skin allergies so bad that my vet recommended that I treat her once a month year round to be sure that she was "pest" free. It really worked and she is doing well now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So happy with this product I am so happy that I no longer have to force my dog to eat one of the heat worm/flea pills. He hated them all no matter what I did to get him to eat them and I was never 100% sure that he got the whole dose. this seems to be working very well and was SO easy !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not work as well as it used to I have been buying this med for my cat for years now. It used to work well for fleas, ticks and ear mites. But lately it works for fleas and at the first week only for ticks and ear mites, then the rest of the month it just works for fleas. My cats has ear mites and lots of ticks.

It works wonderfully well for him without any side effects. 1-800-Pet Meds has made it very easy to keep Tom on schedule. The great prices and fast free shipping are awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revolution Pumpkin has been on Revolution for 2 years, she is a light orange, light skin cat, very allergic to fleas, this is the best product for her, so easy too, one liquid application a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does its job. I've had my pupper wupper for a little over a year now. He started with another brand given at his vet's office. I thought that I was paying was the norm and figured if it's what his vet uses, then it's good. My cousin is a vet and recommended Revolution through Pet Meds. My pup's been on it for 9 or 10 months and it does its job by keeping away the lil vermins that it's supposed to. The price is great too because all pet owners know how expensive it is to own a fur baby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red Rudy on revolution My vet recommended this for all my cats and I have been very pleases with it. Althought I never let my cats outside, there is always that chance of one of those pesky critters getting in the house. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I buy these for my cats and I never have to worry about fleas. I have to yse this one because my cats won't eat the heartworm chews. They're very picky. Have to admit my cats hate it. I wish it were a little easier to get all the liquid out of the tube faster. Within 3 seconds, my cats struggle to get away and I'm still trying to see if all the liquid is out of the tube. I don't know maybe it's me and I'm doing it wrong. My dog is easy, but my cats not so much. Still, I would not stop using this flea treatment because I don't want fleas on my paw-babies and I hate fleas too. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. I’ve always been terrified of giving anything to my cats, especially if it’s applied to their spine. It just creeps me out. Thankfully though, my two cats have not had any side effects and they’ve been very healthy. They’ve been using Revolution for almost two years now. It’s definitely worth paying the extra bucks than buying cheaper stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ferret safe A couple of years ago someone brought their dog into my house and their dog was full of fleas. I have a cat and 6 ferrets at the time. I was giving baths everyday and sprayed and fogged my house every 3 days because of the infestation. I had to take my cat in and they gave her a shot for fleas and sprayed her. The vets told me that revolution was the best for ferrets. And after I applied it to them they never had another flea. But, before I can let them out of their cage this summer I have to get more for them because now my daughter has a dog that came in with fleas. Revolution has been a god sent for my furbabies.

Can you confirm that Revolution for dogs does not contain permethrins? My vet said that is dangerous for cats (if the cat comes into contact with a dog that was treated with permethrins).

Asked by: Lisa
Revolution® (Selamectin) works by penetrating the skin and entering your pet's bloodstream. Concentrations of selamectin, the active ingredient, in the tissue and bloodstream prevent heartworm disease. Selamectin also redistributes into the skin from the bloodstream and kills adult fleas, American dog ticks, and ear mites, and prevents flea eggs from hatching. It is also an anthelmintic, which means it fights to expel parasitic worms. Parasites ingest the drug when they feed on the animal's blood

Is using Revolution and using a flea and tick collar using too much Flea medication?  Or is it considered doubling up??!

Asked by: STORMER
Some flea collars, like Preventic, are generally safe to combine individually with Revolution. A good time to use a collar like Preventic with your normal preventative is if you're going for a deep woods hike with your dog. You can remove the collar after the hike! Talk to your vet before combining a Seresto flea and tick collar with any other medications.

What is the most important information I should know about Revolution® (Selamectin)?

According to the product literature, Revolution® (Selamectin) is safe for use on pregnant or lactating dogs and cats.

What should I discuss with my veterinarian before applying Revolution® (Selamectin) on my pet?

Bathing or shampooing your pet 2 or more hours after treatment will not reduce the effectiveness of Revolution® (Selamectin). Keep this medication away from children and pets.

What happens if I miss applying a dose of Revolution® (Selamectin)?

What happens if I overdose my pet on Revolution® (Selamectin)?

It is also important to eliminate fleas on your pet and in the household and to not feed your pet rodents or uncooked meat or fish. To prevent reinfection, daily cleanup of stools is recommended. Do not use on sick, weak, or underweight animals. Do not apply to wet hair. Dogs should be tested for heartworms prior to using Revolution® (Selamectin). In humans, Revolution® (Selamectin) may be irritating to skin and eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after applying Revolution® (Selamectin) to your pet.

Side effects of Revolution® (Selamectin) that may occur include temporary hair loss at the site of application, loss of appetite, drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, rapid breathing, increased heart rate, and muscle tremors.

  • Revolution® (Selamectin) is a prescription medication.

  • Apply the contents of the tube to a single spot on the skin at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades.

How does Revolution® (Selamectin) work?

Revolution® (Selamectin) works by penetrating the skin and entering your pet's bloodstream. Concentrations of selamectin, the active ingredient, in the tissue and bloodstream prevent heartworm disease. Selamectin also redistributes into the skin from the bloodstream and kills adult fleas, American dog ticks, and ear mites, and prevents flea eggs from hatching. It is also an anthelmintic, which means it fights to expel parasitic worms. Parasites ingest the drug when they feed on the animal's blood. Revolution® (Selamectin) is safe for pregnant and lactating pets.

Cautions:

Side effects are uncommon, with less than 1% of dogs showing signs of digestive upsets. It is not advisable to use Revolution® (Selamectin) in pets that are ill or underweight. Collies and herding dog breeds may have a reaction to the ingredient selamectin if given over the recommended dosage amount. If your dog is a collie or other herding dog breed and your veterinarian has prescribed Revolution® (Selamectin), we urge you to monitor your pet for 8 hours and call your vet if your dog displays any signs of weakness, staggering, dilated pupils, trembling, drooling, or pressing his or her head against a wall.
