What is Osurnia?

Osurnia is an antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory otic gel meant for the treatment of otitis externa (ear infection) in dogs. This solution quickly treats ear infections with just two doses per ear, given one week apart. After using Osurnia on your dog, you don't have to clean the ears for 45 days. The alcohol-free gel formulation comes in a soft flexible tip that is gentle on dog's ears. Osurnia is available in a 2 x 1 ml and 20 x 1 ml carton of premeasured single-dose tubes and requires a prescription from your veterinarian. Osurnia requires refrigeration. To ensure proper temperature, it requires overnight shipping at an additional cost.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:

  • Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory
  • Treats ear infections
  • Alcohol-free gel
  • Gentle on dog's ears
  • Comes in convenient premeasured single-dose tubes

How does Osurnia work?

Osurnia's gel formulation coats and adheres to the entire ear canal and remains in place to fight otitis externa for up to 45 days by naturally dissolving in ear wax. Florfenicol, one of the ingredients, prevents the growth of bacteria. Terbinafine is an antifungal, which prevents the growth of fungi, and betamethasone acetate exhibits anti-inflammatory activity.

Cautions:

For otic use in dogs only. The safe use of Osurnia in dogs used for breeding purposes, during pregnancy, or in lactating dogs hasn't been evaluated. Do not administer orally. The use of Osurnia in dogs with perforated tympanic membranes (eardrum) hasn't been evaluated. Use with caution in dogs with impaired hepatic (liver) function.

Tell your veterinarian if your dog is hypersensitive to florfenicol, terbinafine, or corticosteroids. Consult with your veterinarian to make sure your dog's eardrum is intact.
