Rated 5 out of 5 by from it works! My vet recommended Bravecto, after trying other products. This also works for treating my foster cat's allergies and biting his stomach to the point of losing his hair. All hair has grown back! My only complaint is that the product only seems to last 2 to 2 1/2 months. I have found that Pet Meds has the best price, tho.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works great! This is the only one my cat will let me put on her without a fuss and it actually works. No scratching from her at all. With all the others she ran and has a reaction like it is burning her. But not the Bravecto.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only lasts 2 months The product to stop fleas is good, however the manufacturer says that it will last 3 months. The last 2 times that I have purchased this, it has lasted 2 months. I'm waiting to see how long this one will last. It does do it's job, just a shorter period of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It actually WORKS!! :) My 14 yr old cat had developed an allergy to fleas that caused him to get scabs on his skin. The flea drops we had used for so long stopped working and, being in South Florida where fleas are a problem all year round, I needed something better FAST! My Vet recommended Bravecto and, thankfully, it WORKS!! No more fleas, no more scabs, no more scratching. Tommy is healthy and happy now! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BRAVO BRAVECTO!! When none of the other top brands were working for my kitty Dandy Lion, my vet suggested trying Bravecto. Within a day there was no more scratch, licking and chewing. I will be putting my other cats on this too and it will be nice not to worry about dosing my cats every month. My kitty finally got relief.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skin Reaction This product made my cat's fur fall out at the application site. Beyond that his skin is scaly and tender to the touch. I also have developed a rash on my face from the product. I will use another product when he is due again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for multi-cat household in the South This is our 2nd round of Bravecto on 5 cats of varying ages. Yes, it leaves a sort of greasy spot and yes, we've found more of a 60-75 day coverage, as reported by others. HOWEVER, we feel it is the most effective treatment to date. Expensive, but in our opinion, worth it. Our guys were suffering with scabs, etc. None of that now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Gave my cat dandruff and excessive shedding It worked as far as preventing fleas and ticks. However, my cat had a white flaky patch of skin where I applied the topical, severe dandruff, and excess shedding. Switched to Soresto collar and there is significant improvement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far I see improvement My 2 indoors cats were treated two weeks ago after I saw a couple of fleas on them. Occasionally they are biting and scratching at their legs and tails but I do not see any evidence of fleas when i comb them. One is very long hair and the other has very thick fur. I’m wondering if i can also give them a bath or use flea powder while they are on the Bravecto? I’m paranoid that’s I’m never going to get the fleas out of the house

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't use it again Used this on my 15lb cat. Not only did it leave a greasy, sticky residue that lasted for days, he also lost hair in patches where the product was applied. He now has 2 bald spots between his shoulder blades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works FAR Above All Other Brands Living in the country we have constant issues with fleas and ticks. We “had” been using another top brand religiously - every 6 weeks - to no avail. We would invariably end up with fleas in our home and constantly fighting fleas on our pets. We tried Bravecto and was surprised it not only lasted 12 weeks - checking each pet closely - it lasted an extra week for one cat needing a vets release for another dose. FIVE STARS all the way!!! Super happy with advertised results!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great but not for 90 days This is the only product which keeps the northeast Florida fleas at bay. Problem is, it doesn’t last 90 days as the literature indicates. after about 60 days the effect starts wearing off. Wish it wasn’t so expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best decision - ever! I recently moved to, Kentucky, where ticks are an absolute nightmare! Being from, California, I'd actually never seen a tick before. My cat, Hyde, became so infested from being outside for bathroom purpose only, that I took well over 60 ticks off him. The vet recommend to use this and I've never been so thrilled with the outcome. I've not found one tick since the application, Hyde's begun to gain weight back and there has been absolutely zero side effects. I wouldn't recommend anything but this for ticks on cats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bravecto it’s expensive BUT it works! I have two outside cats and one inside one inside cat has a flea allergy! Got it first for him and it worked like a charm no side effects so then I snagged two more doses when they were 30% off stuff is pricey! But they are outside all day till around dark and come back in NO FLEAS! Not a one so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm very impressed! I bought this about a month ago. My one cat has some skin issues. He gets very itchy at times. He's also an indoor only cat. I've had him to the vets a few times and they would give him a steroid shot, which never really helped. Our last visit my vet recommended this even though we don't have a flea problem. It cleared him up within 3 days! No more scabs on his back and his coat looks very healthy. Definitely worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Great My cat Bubba would always get fleas again after we used Advantage ll on him as I comb him every other day to check for fleas. I decided to try Bravecto & it's been two weeks & nothing. I am so greatful for this product. So far no after effects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great, too much product I have tried most flea and tick products, they are now ineffective of fleas, complete wast of money. However this is VERY expensive, but works. Too much product for a cat to tolerate. My cat kept me up most of the night after application, trying to get the product cleaned off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from only medicine that works my vet suggested this because fleas and ticks have become immune to products like frontline and it is the ONLY thing that solved our flea problem! it has been 4 months since i started using bravecto and i have not seen or been bitten by a flea since. i 100% recommend to anyone who has any flea problem. it kills off everything, including eggs! it seems pricey but it works for all 3 months and then some.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved our flea problem! We live in Florida so the fleas we have here are on a different level. Our two indoor/outdoor cats have been struggling with fleas. We were using Frontline but it did absolutely nothing. I asked some neighbors what they use and most people recommended this product! We flea-combed them two days after application and the fleas were completely gone! The test will now be if this product actually lasts 3 months :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FINALLY!! A topical flea treatment that works! I've probably spent close to 1K over the past year on various OTC treatments (collars, topical, powders, sprays, shampoos, etc.) for my many cats. Nothing ever even came close to working. Finally called my vet and without hesitation they recommended Bravecto. It was expensive (I have a lot of cats), but boy was it worth it! Other than a few hours of scratching and biting like crazy right after treatment (which worried me), it worked perfectly. I applied Bravecto around 5 pm and by the time I woke up the next morning, my cats were completely flea free. No more fleas, no more flee droppings, no more scratching...my cats are so relieved (and I'm even more relieved)!

I just got Bravecto today, applied one tube to each of my cats, and they are all scratching and biting like crazy. Is this normal - it's been about 5 hours since I applied the solution - just wondering if I need to be concerned. Thanks!

Asked by: lkv04lbv
Thank you for your question. When fleas are in the process of dying their movements become uncoordinated. This may cause a skin sensation which can result in increased scratching of the dog or cat. However, this phenomenon is quickly resolved once the fleas are dead, which occurs within a matter of hours after treatment.

I use Bravecto for my cats, I like it because it lasts for 3 months. My vets don’t seem to know much about it and prefer Revolution because it has heart worm prevention in it. Does Bravecto have heart worm prevention? What do you recommend if not?

Thank you for your question. Bravecto does not prevent heartworms. Revolution protects your cats from heartworms, treat or prevent fleas, ear mites, hookworms, and roundworms. We also offer Advantage Multi for cats which kills adult fleas through contact meaning they don't have to bite and feed on your cat die. It treats flea infestations as well as treats and controls the common occurring ear mite and intestinal parasites roundworms and hookworms. Using the contact number on the Bravecto website, I was told the topical product for cats is the same as for dogs. For dogs, it says it's effective against lone star ticks for up to 8 weeks; for cats, it says it's not effective. Which is it?

Asked by: otto
Thank you for your question. When study was attempted on the effectiveness of Bravecto for cats against Lone Star ticks per the manufacturer the lone star ticks would not attach to the cats studied. So results were inconclusive, the label does not list the product as being effective or non-effective in cats against Lone star ticks.

What is Bravecto for Cats?

Bravecto for Cats is a safe and effective topical flea and tick treatment that provides up to 12 weeks of protection. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis) infestations for 12 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months of age and older, and weighing 2.6 lbs or greater. This easy-to-apply formula also treats and controls Dermacentor variabilis (American dog tick) infestations for 8 weeks. With one application, Bravecto for Cats will protect your cat against fleas for three times as long as most leading flea and tick preventatives. This means less of a chance of missing a dose, making it easier to keep your cat protected year-round. One dose effectively breaks the 3-month flea life cycle, from egg to adulthood. Bravecto for Cats requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

NOTE: To protect dogs against fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks, use Bravecto Chews for dogs or Bravecto Topical for dogs.

For:

Cats and Kittens (6+ months of age, weighing 2.6+ lbs )

  • Effective prevention and treatment for fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and black-legged ticks (Ixodes scapularis) for up to 12 weeks
  • Treats and controls Dermacentor variabilis (American dog tick) infestations for 8 weeks
  • Kills 100% of fleas within 8 hours of application
  • Effectively breaks the 3-month flea life cycle
  • Close to a full year of protection with only 4 doses. No more monthly dosing!
  • Fewer doses mean fewer chances to miss a dose decreasing the likelihood of having gaps in protection
  • Easy to apply

How does Bravecto for Cats work?

After applying Bravecto for Cats, the medication quickly reaches tissue fluids under your cat's skin. When fleas and ticks feed on your cat, they ingest Bravecto for Cats and die. Bravecto for Cats kills fleas, prevents flea infestations and kills black-legged ticks for 12 weeks. Bravecto for Cats also treats and controls American dog ticks for 8 weeks.
