How safe is the tube application for your cat... any side effects?
ANSWERS (1)
My cat is 16 years old and we dosed him three days ago. No side effects so far. It is very sticky if you get it on your hands. The cap twists open it doesn't come off and I was trying to pull it off so I had to use alcohol to get it off my fingers.

What is Bravecto Plus?

Bravecto Plus is a safe, easy-to-use topical treatment that protects your cat against fleas, ticks, heartworm and intestinal parasites for up to 2 months. It is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis and for the treatment of infections with intestinal roundworm (Toxocara cati; 4th stage larvae, immature adults and adults) and hookworm (Ancylostoma tubaeforme; 4th stage larvae, immature adults and adults). Bravecto Plus also kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of tick infestations [Ixodes scapularis (black-legged tick) and Dermacentor variabilis (American dog tick)] for 2 months in cats and kittens 6 months of age and older and weighing 2.6 lb or greater. The 2-month topical combines flea and tick protection, treatment of intestinal parasites, and heartworm prevention, which can be easier than monthly doses of multiple products. Bravecto Plus for cats requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

For:

Cats and Kittens (6+ months of age, weighing 2.6+ lbs)

Benefits:

  • Protects your cat against fleas, ticks, heartworm and intestinal parasites.
  • Extended duration, two-month application requires fewer doses than monthly products, making it easier for you to keep your cat protected year-round.
  • Broad spectrum treatment is easier than using multiple products.
  • Easy topical application for less stress for you and your cat.

How does Bravecto Plus work?

Bravecto Plus is applied topically to your cat's skin, where active ingredients Fluralaner and Moxidectin are absorbed into the bloodstream. Fluralaner kills flea and ticks when they feed on your cat. Moxidectin kills roundworms, hookworms and heartworms.

Cautions:

Not for human use. Do not contact or allow children to contact the application site until 2 hours post application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact with eyes occurs, then flush eyes slowly and gently with water. If wearing contact lenses, eyes should be rinsed first, then remove contact lenses and continue rinsing, then seek medical advice immediately. Wash hands and contacted skin thoroughly with soap and water immediately after use of the product. If the product accidentally contacts skin and a sticky residue persists after washing, rubbing alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol) can be applied to the area to remove the residue. Fluralaner, one of the ingredients in Bravecto Plus, is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Neurologic adverse reactions have been reported in cats receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in cats without a history of neurologic disorders. Use with caution in cats with a history of neurologic disorders. Use with caution in cats that are heartworm positive.
