Does this product build up in the liver my dog has liver issues and cannot take anything that can compromise his liver

Asked by: Nancy
Thank you for your question. Bravecto (Fluralaner) is a medication that is highly bound to plasma proteins therefore it's assumed that it is eliminated hepatically, however this has not yet been studied. In clinical trials, the medication appeared to be safe in dogs, and is not associated with worsening liver disease. It is considered to be a safe medication for dogs with liver disease. However, if you have further concerns, you may want to contact your veterinarian.

Can u give a 22lbs dog two 4.4-9.9 tablets. Would it hurt the dog.

Asked by: Pote2224
Thank you for your question. The correct dose for a 22lbs dog is the 10-22lbs dose. If your pet is a little over 22lbs your veterinarians may prescribe the 22-44lbs dose. Two doses of 4-10 lbs will not cover a 22lbs dog. For the medication to be effective you should dose your pet as directed by your veterinarian.

Asked by: Julie
While the use of Bravecto to treat demodectic mange is what is called an "off-label" use, many veterinarians, including the one I work for, have had great success with this product in treating mange. One chewable tablet every 2 weeks for an average of 2-3 treatments works as well as daily dosing with ivermectin and is a much easier method of treatment. Trust your vet to do the best for your pet.

Thank you for your question. The most common adverse reactions recorded in clinical trials were vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, polydipsia, and flatulence. My vet just put my sons 7 yr old pit on bravecto for treating his mange,I read not one comment about mites.Hes 7 n we have treated him previously with ivermectin many times, are we going to win this battle with Bravecto?

Asked by: Julie
While the use of Bravecto to treat demodectic mange is what is called an "off-label" use, many veterinarians, including the one I work for, have had great success with this product in treating mange. One chewable tablet every 2 weeks for an average of 2-3 treatments works as well as daily dosing with ivermectin and is a much easier method of treatment. Trust your vet to do the best for your pet.

Does this prevent sand fleas?

Asked by: Vickeye
Thank you for your question. One chew provides broad-spectrum and long-lasting protection that starts to kill fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick.

We are rescuing a dog who is Heartworm Positive. Has anyone used Bravecto with a dog being treated for HW?  Are there any side effects?  We live in CT and have a lot of ticks, so we need to use a preventative.  Thanks!

Thank you for your question. The most common adverse reactions recorded in clinical trials were vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, polydipsia, and flatulence. Bravecto requires a prescription from your veterinarian so they will be able to tell you if heartworm prevention and bravecto are suitable for use together.

Can it be given to a cat nursing kittens 5 wks old and are there coupons

Asked by: Maggie
Thank you for your question. This product is for Dogs and puppies (over 4.4 lbs and 6 months of age or older) only. We have a product of Bravecto for Cats, but it is topical. As for coupons, I am unsure. You can try SAVE15 for 15% off.
