What is Seresto?

Seresto is an effective, reliable alternative to monthly flea and tick topicals that lasts for 8 months. Seresto is a flea and tick collar for dogs and cats that uses exciting, innovative technology to release the active ingredients in controlled doses over an extended period of time. This means effective long-term flea and tick control without the inconvenience of monthly applications. Seresto protects your pet from fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae and ticks for eight months. It is available in three formulation, small dogs, large dogs, and cats. It is non-greasy and odorless.

Not available in Puerto Rico or Canada.

Find Seresto for cats and dogs at 1-800-PetMeds
For:
Dogs (7 weeks of age or older)
Cats (10 weeks of age or older)

Benefits:
Begins working immediately after the collar is applied
Provides effective flea and tick control for eight months
Kills fleas before they can lay eggs
Prevents ticks infestations within 48 hours after application
Water-resistant and will continue to work even if wet or dirty
Odor-free compared to older-generation flea and tick collars
Safety release mechanism prevents strangulation if the collar becomes caught or tangled
Safe if chewed on by your dog or cat

How it works:

The flea and tick collar releases the two active ingredients in low doses over an extended period of time. The ingredients are then absorbed through the fatty layer of your pet's skin and distributed throughout your pet's body to protect against fleas and ticks for eight months. Seresto can be worn alongside your pet's regular collar.

No matter if you have a cat or a dog, the collars come with a rachet release mechanism that releases when your pet is under pressure, which enables your pet to free himself or herself. It also has a pre-determined breaking point if your pet's head and neck get trapped, which allows your pet's strength to break the collar and get out of a sticky situation.

Cautions:
The collar should not be used on puppies younger than seven weeks old or on kittens younger than ten weeks old. If ticks are present on your pet when the collar is applied, they will not die within the first forty-eight hours and should be removed manually. If your dog or cat shows any sign of skin irritation or other reaction to the collar, remove immediately and consult your veterinarian.

No ticks for few months! My 2yr old cat has been wearing the collar for a few months and there hasn't been any ticks on her! We live in a highly infested tick area of MA. This collar took about a week for her to get used to, now it's fine. 08/18/2014
Wonderful product What a wonderful product. I have not seen a tick on either of my dogs since I put the collar on. 08/16/2014
We have 3 cats & are on our 2nd collars of this product, ready to purchase the 3rd. Have not seen one flea since we first started using them. 'Was recommended by our veterinarian & I couldn't thank him enough. 08/16/2014
Pets So Comfortable Now My 3 cats are usually indoor cats, except I might let them out for a little bit 3 times a week mostly during the winter. Most of the time they just stare out the partially opened door. I got complacent and didn't use flea protection and started noticing my cats scratching at the beginning of June. I ordered Frontline Plus, but had to use another dosage of Frontline Plus sooner than the 4 weeks were up because the fleas were driving my cats nuts (they were not just scratching continuously like crazy, but also getting up and trying to actually run away from the flea's biting them). After the 2nd dosage of Frontline Plus didn't seem to work, I bought the Seresto Flea Collars which almost immediately seemed to start working. I fogged my whole house and then set some flea traps out in my Den where I stay most of the time (one consisting of a lamp over a plate of water with a few drops of dawn dish detergent so that the fleas would sink and drown, and another trap using just a white night light near a bowl of water and dawn). These traps worked, catching hatching and left over fleas that survived the fogging and some smaller fleas hatching every time I walked around. I also vacuumed. Now all three of my cats are resting comfortably. My traps are still catching a few real small newly hatched fleas and the rest are trying to one by one crawl and jump on my bare feet as they hatch from their tough impervious cocoons. Well they seem to be staying away from my cats, and once or twice a day another newly hatched flea hops in my water filled traps with drops of dawn in it and they drown. I tried vacuuming but those invisible impervious cocoons are stuck inside my carpet down deep hatching baby fleas. I just hope they don't last too much longer. It is only in my Den, but this is where I watch TV and work on my Computer all the time. At least my 3 cats have stopped scratching and their sores are healing . Seresto worked for my cats, they are flea free, and they usually are in the Den right with me most of the time seeing what I am up to. 08/16/2014
Thank you Bayer! No ticks. No fleas. No problem! We tried two other products recommended by our vet to help our dog with a terrible tick problem he is having this year. Nothing seemed to work except the Seresto collar. Our dog swims everyday and loves the outdoors. With this collar he can continue this lifestyle tick and flea free. It works! It's convenient! I recommend it highly! 08/13/2014
