What is Seresto?

Seresto is an effective, reliable alternative to monthly flea and tick topicals. This dual-action collar repels and kills fleas & ticks for 8 consecutive months. If a flea or tick is repelled, it cannot attach and transmit disease-causing organisms. Seresto is a flea and tick collar for dogs and cats that uses exciting, innovative technology to release the active ingredients in controlled doses over an extended period of time. This means effective long-term flea and tick control without the inconvenience of monthly applications. Seresto protects your pet from fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks, as well as sarcoptic mange on dogs without odor or mess. It is available in three formulations for small dogs, large dogs, and cats.

Please Note: We cannot ship this product to Canada.

For:

Dogs (7 weeks of age or older), Cats (10 weeks of age or older)

Benefits:
  • Begins working immediately after the collar is applied
  • Repels and kills fleas & ticks for 8 months, helping to prevent attachment and subsequent transmission of disease-causing organisms.
  • Kills fleas before they can lay eggs
  • Prevents tick infestations within 48 hours after application
  • Aids in the control of sarcoptic mange on dogs
  • Water-resistant and will continue to work even if wet or dirty
  • Odor-free compared to older-generation flea and tick collars
  • Non-greasy, odorless, convenient.
  • Safety release mechanism prevents strangulation if the collar becomes caught or tangled
  • Safe if chewed on by your dog or cat
  • Light reflectors for added visibility in the evening and at night
How it Works:

The flea and tick collar releases the two active ingredients in low doses over an extended period of time. The ingredients are then absorbed through the fatty layer of your pet's skin and distributed throughout your pet's body to protect against fleas and ticks for eight months. Seresto can be worn alongside your pet's regular collar. No matter if you have a cat or a dog, the collars come with a ratchet release mechanism that releases when your pet is under pressure, which enables your pet to free himself or herself. It also has a pre-determined breaking point if your pet's head and neck get trapped, which allows your pet's strength to break the collar and get out of a dangerous situation.

Cautions:

The collar should not be used on puppies younger than seven weeks old or on kittens younger than ten weeks old. If ticks are present on your pet when the collar is applied, they will not die within the first forty-eight hours and should be removed manually. If your dog or cat shows any sign of skin irritation or other reaction to the collar, remove immediately and consult your veterinarian.

Seresto is rated 3.68976897689769 out of 5 by 303.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't last long I bought this flee collar for our dog, was excited to have something last up to 8 months. After 2 months, it does not work at all! Very disappointed with it and will be going back to topical. I feel like it was a waste of money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A phenomenal product ♂ ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars. you · a few seconds ago Phenomenal product! T We just purchased these collars for a long-haired Chihuahua and a Yorkshyre terrier/Shih Tzu mix, aged eight years old and nine years old, respectively. We live out in the country, in Kentucky, and, even though they are indoor dogs, they do go outside occasionally for potty breaks. And, even though they are primarily indoor dogs, they still have managed to pick up all manner of ticks and fleas! We have tried everything from other flea collars to flea and tick shampoo's, to flea and tick oils that you rub on their backs… Absolutely nothing worked except for these Seresto collars! Our Shorkey was itching so badly from fleas that he had bitten and scratched himself to the point of bleeding. Plus, every time he would go outside for even one or two minutes he would come back smelling awful. These collars not only made him impervious to fleas and ticks, but now he doesn't smell bad when he comes in, he doesn't scratch and bite and lick himself anymore, and he has absolutely no more fleas or ticks. We don't even bother checking them anymore when they come in from potty break. Admittedly, it Took about 10 days for the collars to fully work their magic, but now it's been over a month and the problem is still fixed. The problem had gotten so bad, that we didn't even buy them online because of the time involved in getting them shipped to us. We had to have them right away, so we spent $55 for each collar at our local veterinarian office. Next time, we will definitely be ordering them in advance from now on. Thank you so much, Bayer! Your product is amazing…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If everything in life worked this perfectly I never take the time to write reviews. But fleas are terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad to have in your home. When the Frontline and Revolution stopped working- we put it on very religiously- we were on vacation and came home to one flea-infested house. We tried Serresto and in spite of the steep price ALTHOUGH CHEAPER BY $30 AT 800-PET-MEDS THAN AT THE VET- this product is SO worth it. Fleas are expensive to get rid of. There really isn't any other option for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely happy with Serestro This is the 3rd time ordering this collar. I've never had an issue either. I keep it fairly tight (one finger) so it can work properly. I'm surrounded by woods and my husband came back with a tick on him, but not our dog. I won't go back to the drops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Lasting! I bought these collars last year and they have kept the fleas off for the guaranteed 8 months and a little longer. I am reordering this year. They are so much easier than having to hold my cats down and apply the liquid every month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Put it on and forget it!! No more struggle to apply frontline and way better flea prevention!! I'm never going back! My cats are happy, healthy and flea free!!!

Q&A

We use advantage multi monthly for outdoor cats and are looking for a product that offers tick protection. I noticed one of the active ingredients in the collar is the same (imidacloprid). Is this a safety concern? Is there a collar just for ticks?

Asked by: Luke
Thank you for your question. You are correct, that would be doubling the dose on the flea meds. Unfortunately they do not have a tick only collar for cats. You may want to consult your vet about using the seresto collar and maybe a seperate heartworm medication.

Can I use this product if I've recently applied a topical flea preventative(frontline plus)?

Asked by: Kwright84
Since the frontline was recently applied you would need to ask your vet if its okay to use the collar. He would be able to answer that question since he knows your Furry Friends history so there is a no unforseen issues.
