How it works:
Revolution works by penetrating the skin and entering your pet's bloodstream. Concentrations of selamectin, the active ingredient, in the tissue and bloodstream prevent heartworm disease. Selamectin also redistributes into the skin from the bloodstream and kills adult fleas, American dog ticks, and ear mites, and prevents flea eggs from hatching. It is also an anthelmintic, which means it fights to expel parasitic worms. Parasites ingest the drug when they feed on the animal's blood.
Cautions:
Side effects are uncommon, with less than 1% of dogs showing signs of digestive upsets. It is not advisable to use Revolution in pets that are ill or underweight.

I was introduced to Revelation for an ear mite problem with my barn cat that caused his ear to get infected from scratching. This product has worked wonders and I now use it on my other 4 cats as well. It is easy to use and all the things it covers, i.e. fleas, worms, ear mites, etc. makes it a great product and reasonably priced for all it does and it ships quickly plus they send you a friendly reminder when it is time to refill it.
I've been using Revolution for a while to get rid of a long-term ear mite infestation of one of my cats. It works great. The only difficulty is trying to get a current prescription from my vet..they won't fax it, and gave no refills! But the hassle was worth the money I saved! The vet doesn't offer any discount for larger quantities!
1-800-PetMeds products are great. Ordering and delivery is very easy and fast. Saves you the trip to your vet for the product. They also send a treat for your pet, which Precious loves. Very special!
The revolution has helped greatly in the area of fleas and parasites. My outdoor cats are doing well. I wish this product would help prevent ticks though. I am constantly pulling ticks off of my boys. That would really make it worth the money for me.
Have been using revolution for our border collie for a few years, i don't know if they changed the formula,, but it isn't working against fleas AT ALL. Our vet told us they had a number of complaints regarding this, and Pfizer(Mfg) authorized a free box. A lot of good that has done, if it isn't working with the first box, another box isn't going to make it work. Will be switching to another brand..
My dog has been diagnosed with sartoptic mange and will begin treatment with Revolution, however he had a Sentinel hartworm tab 7 days ago. Can I start the Revolution now? (he is itching a lot and I am very concerned)
