How it Works:

The active ingredients include glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM. Glucosamine is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage in both humans and pets. It helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Many believe that it provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Further research on the effectiveness of glucosamine is still needed, but many of our customers find it to be very beneficial to their pets.

Cautions:

Diabetic dogs or dogs that are overweight and have problems with glucose tolerance should have their blood sugars monitored if they are given glucosamine supplements. Side effects are very rare, but Super Joint Enhancers may cause diarrhea.

How this product should be used:

The usual dose for dogs up to 10 lbs is ¼ tablet once a day, for dogs 10 to 24 lbs give ½ tablet daily, for dogs 25-100 lbs give 1 tablet daily and for dogs over 100 lbs give 2 tablets daily. It is recommended that double the amount should be given for the first 6 weeks then reduce gradually over a 3 week period to the recommended dose.

What are the side effects:

Side effects are rare but may include diarrhea.

What special precautions are there:

This product is not intended to be used in place of other treatments in the presence of an infection, or if surgery is needed. This product contains artificial beef flavor. Glucosamine, in humans, may increase insulin resistance and consequently affect glucose tolerance. Diabetic dogs or dogs that are overweight and have problems with glucose tolerance should have their blood sugars monitored if they are given glucosamine supplements.

In the event of overdose:

Overdose is not likely but may result in diarrhea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Leroy from This stuff works! My 13-year old Basset (Flash) got to the point that he really did not want to move. He is very old but otherwise healthy. He moans and cries if he has to go outside to relieve himself and he takes about 45 seconds just to stand up. I have given him Super Joint Enhancer for over a year now. After the first two weeks, he could stand quickly and after a month, HE RUNS AGAIN! I give the 65lb dog one tab in the morning and one tab at night and I will do so for the rest of his life. Although he can no longer climb stairs he gets around now without pain. Use this stuff.

My near 10 year-old lab used to jump straight up, with considerable clearance between his hind legs and the ground/floor, when we were going to take a walk or whatever. For the past 3 years, not so much. This afternoon, he performed a signature launch as we were going out for his afternoon walk. I'm not quite ready to declare this stuff as a miracle product, but seeing him jump like that again made me happy.

We have a 8 yr. old Lab that has had both his rear leg ACL's torn and operated on when he was 3 years old. (Common in Labs). He starting having random episodes of problems getting around. It was very sad & concerning for for his overall quality of life. He is now a changed dog & seems to be very stable. Good stuff. Thanks. Michael P.

My husband crushes it with a knife every morning and puts it in her food. What a guy. I don't think our dog has taken it long enough for us to see a difference. Will keep you posted.

She could barely climb the 5 stairs to our porch. After only a week of taking SJE twice daily she was able to walk up the stairs. After a month, she was back to her old self. She still has a twice daily dose along with her pain meds. She has her good and bad days but I think without these supplements all her days would be bad.
