What is The Super Dog Crate with Cozy Bed?

Forget about regular steel crates, The Super Dog Crate with Cozy Bed is your pet's dream den. It's made of sturdy steel and blow molded plastic which resists cracking. Many pets sleep on cold steel trays, but this crate comes with a plush, cushiony bed that is washable. It's the most versatile on the market with 4 doors: a top loading door, two side doors, and a large front door that opens up and stows away in the top of the crate. This unique garage door allows your pet to come in and out without the nuisance of a swinging door.

For:

Dogs and Cats

Benefits:
  • Folds easily and quickly.
  • No more swinging doors! The main door stows away for easy in and out.
  • It's secure. Pets can't get out once the crate is latched up.
  • Made with sturdy steel & strong blow-molded plastic.
  • Rounded corners protect you & your home from scratches.
  • 4 Doors means easy access.
  • Top door allows you to load cats and puppies without them running out.
  • Plush bed is washable.
  • Wheels make it easy to move.
  • Free carrying bag included.
How it Works:

The Super Dog Crate is great for:

  • Separation Anxiety Helps eliminate your pet's destructive behavior and keeps your pet safe from unforeseen dangers when you are away.
  • Sleeping Pets will come to think of this crate as their own room or safe space in the house.
  • House breaking Pets do not normally urinate or defecate where they sleep, which means no accidents in the home.
  • Training with multiple pets Using a crate can reduce the aggressiveness between pets when training.
Cautions:

This pet crate is not suitable or certified for air travel. These crates are not stackable. Remove all collars and leashes while using this product. Make sure all locks are engaged when this product is in use. Do not use or rest near an open or exposed flame. Although this product is compact for travel, it is not airline approved due to its folding capability.

How to Use
Directions:
  • Remove the crate from the carrying case and place crate on the ground with the Pet Gear logo on the bottom facing towards you.
  • Lift the top panel up and out so the side wiring is extended.
  • Lift both side panels of the crate to 90 degrees.
  • Flip the crate so that it is on its side (facing upward) and align the inter-locking panels from the side panels to the top panel.
  • Align the inter-locking panels on the sides to the top panel and press in place.
  • Latch the locks by extending the lock downward, then up to lift the lock into place. (If the bottom part does not latch, repeat the previous two steps.)
  • To ensure the latch and lock is fastened, lightly pull up on the lock.
  • Fasten the latches on the left and right back sides of the cage.
Tip:

If this is your pet's first time using a crate, try encouraging your pet by placing treats inside the crate. Keep the door open to allow your pet to sniff around and become comfortable with it.

The Super Dog Crate with Cozy Bed is rated 3.6315789473684212 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Puppy - less than 6 mo old My boxer puppry broke one of the latches the first day home alone - I need to find out where to find new ones. Part of this piece is metal (didn't break# and hard plastic #broken# - both pieces need to be metal. Not easily cleaned #inside) More suitable for a completely potty-trained dog.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not sturdy enough for dog intent upon escape When I received this crate, I was very impressed with it, I have a rescue JRT who is an escape artist. I placed him in the crate feeling certain that he would be contained while I was at work. In the time that I was gone, he literally destroyed the crate, ripping it to shreds, tore the doors off, etc. I do believe that this crate would be adequate for a dog who isn't quite so zealous about getting out. It seems sturdy and would be safe for car travel. Just won't work for a dog who is intent upon getting out. I bought it because of the description of it being a "steel" crate, but it is more of just a heavy hard plastic. Do not trust it to contain a zealous dog who is intent upon escape.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poorly made For such an expensive crate, it is extremely flawed. My 6 month old frenchie chewed his way out of it in less than an hour. Liked the design, but the plastic material is fairly flimsy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I bought two, one for each dog. They love it. Easy to put up, easy to use. Easy to move. Bedding is easy to wash.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flimsy latches The overall quality is good until you get to the door latches. My dog easily pops the door open because the latches just clip over the door. The kennel was very expensive, and I'm disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good product Purchased this crate to travel with my puppy. It was easy to open and collapse and loved the top opening for ease of access. Handle and wheels made bringing to room easy. Have had it three years and used it on many trips. cons: When collapsed doesn't stay together unless put into case. Should have a strap to hold together. Locking clips can fall off; easy to put back into place but recently lost one on a previous trip. Having trouble trying to find a replacement clip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Design Flaws This could be an awesome crate, but there are a few design flaws. 1) The garage door only snaps shut at the bottom of the crate, not at all on the sides. This leaves a significant gap on the sides. (My door was bowed, so it was a VERY significant gap). A sleeping dog could easily push a paw through the side and be injured. 2) The crate has no way to secure it together when it is folded up. I love the idea of this crate! However, the safety issue on the sides needs to be addressed. I find this crate to be unusable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Portable I purchased this a while ago to use as an away from home travel crate. I liked the way it folded flat and you could pack it in the car and place stuff on top of it- I now use it daily for my two recent addition siblings who love it. It is their bed, along side my bed and they go in it willing each night and settle in and sleep the whole night without a sound. I did purchase an additional cushiony bed to go inside although it comes with a nice soft pad. I purchased the large size. The pups mid -sized apx 20-23 lbs each and they have plenty of room.- My Older dog loves to go in during the day and take her nap in there- I do not use the top door but really like having the option to open the full side garage door. Great product.

Q&A

Is there any way of securing the crate for use in the car, like with the seatbelt?

Asked by: mmbar42
This does not give a seatbelt option so it would be something you would use at your disgression.

Is the unit FAA certified for pet transport on planes?

Asked by: Anthony
This crate would not fit under the seat, and I woulld not trust it even if you ship the dog on the plane. It is not appropriate for plane travel in my opinion.

HOW DURABLE IS IT

I HAVE A 10 LB MALTESE SHIZU MIX SHE HAS REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD SEPERATION ANXIETY SHE CAN CHEW LIKE A PIT BULL WHEN LEFT ALONE HER CURRENT CRATE IS ALL RUSTY FROM CHEWING WILL THIS CRATE HOLD UP
Asked by: NONE
This crate would not work for a zealous chewer who is intent upon escape. It simpily isn't strong enough. Most of my Jacks are in regular 18 x 24 metal crates and they work just fine even for this boy. Try giving your dog Kong type toys that are incredibly sturdy and entertaining. There are toys that you can stuff treats in that will take a lot of time being extracted by your dog. You almost have to give them :busy work so that they redirect their attention.

is there a "door" on the small end?

So, there are four doors but only one is demonstrated. How do the others work, and where are they? This is basic info yet not covered in the video.
Asked by: Dan V
Hi there, Yes it has a side door. it actually has 4 doors: a top loading door, two side doors, and a large front door that opens up and stows away in the top of the crate. Under the picture it reads: Click on links below to see different views: This will give you some options to view different pictures with all the doors.

I have 3 Shi Tzu's that sleep together. Can this be used for them and if so, what size is recommended?

Asked by: Joe
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use this crate for your furry pals to sleep in. Depending on their length and width would depend on the size of the crate you would need. The Large crate may do the trick for you.
