I have never been so thankful!
The reviews were already awesome, so I gave it a try!
This product seriously exceeded my expectations. It has only been a few weeks and his flaking skin has improved a ton! I noticed other changes in my dog's well-being, too. He had a nasty cough from the time we first got him, and somehow his coughing has stopped COMPLETELY after administering the fish oil. I learned that Omega-3 boosts hair and skin health, as well as eye and heart health. His eyes have improved also. They used to leak a discharge that would stick to the outermost surface. His eyes are clear and fresh now! No more discharge, coughing, flaking, or scratching!
Some of the bad reviews involve the dispensing of the oil from the capsule. I have a 13 pound dog who eats slow and can't chew anything larger than pistachio nuts. He clearly couldn't chew or swallow the humongous pill. I even bought Pill Pockets but the pill would just slip out when I tried to feed him.
He also refused to eat his regular crunchy food when bursting the oil over it.
Effective solution: Take his favorite jerky treats and rip them into small pieces, puncture a small hole into each pill and utilize it as a dropper (3-4 drops per jerky piece). Works perfectly!
An amazing and VERY affordable product. Love you, Omega-3.

super pure omega 3 is the best
My dog Sadie had the worst problem of itching her back side...It was all flaking. But once I gave her the Omega 3 she stopped. Her skin is so much better on her back side. I couldn't get her to take the pills so I pushed a pin though it and squirted the pill content on her wet food and she ate it right up.Now her skin is so shiner and supper soft. I would recommend this product to any one with a dog who had a skin problem. Its the best for the right price.Thank you Purplegirl36.

Omega3 for Hot Spots
My hound-mix developed hot spots and chewed and licked until the area was bloody. The Vet prescribed oatmeal shampoo and Omega 3 capsules. Getting tired of disguising them in his food, I decided to use them like a treat. He loves them! I just put the capsule in his bowl and he scoops it up--if one falls on the floor, he will find it and devour it. When we board him, they don't even charge additional for giving him his "pill'. Oh, and his hot spots are gone, his coat looks great (for a hound) thick and soft.

Great for winter dry skin
In December I noticed my dog was itching constantly, all over, and in places to the point of causing a scab. I was concerned, but I didn't think it was allergies. It was severely dry in our house so when I contacted by vet she recommended I try an Omega 3 before I bring her in for allergy testing. I purchased this product from 1800PetMeds because it was affordable and I like the company. I have been giving one pill each night to my dog. I pierce the capsule and squirt it on her food. It doesn't have an odor, at least that I can smell, but she eats it right away. She even tried to eat the empty capsule! Anyway, I truly believe this has allegiated her itching. She doesn't itch nearly as much as she did before and she seems to be less uncomfortable. Her itching isn't completely gone but it has decreased significantly.

Super Pure Omega
With the always reliable 1800petmeds label, this excellent and economic fatty acid supplement can indeed help a wide variety of conditions. I have found it most helpful in managing pets with chronic skin allergies and dry itchy skin, two of the most common problems seen in everyday veterinary practice.. I find Super Pure Omega 3 especially helpful with increasing efficacy when combined with a wonderful shampoo like 1800petmeds aloe vera and oatmeal shampoo and conditioner when they are used up to twice weekly, as well as sometimes using an antihistamine like diphenhydramine or chlorphenirimine at the same time as mixing the fatty acid in with meals. . Within 3-4 weeks, clients will often notice at least an improvement in coat quality, as well as level of itching. Being safe to use long term, animal guardians can also experience the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids with cardiovascular health, kidney well being, as well as brain function and joint health. I find this economic product an excellent and effective alternative to many of the more expensive omega 3 fatty acids on the market. The biggest draw back I have seen when using this product is that occasionally some pets are not that fond of the taste of this product. . I have found this especially problematic in some cats. But if one hides it in butter or tuna juice, many finicky felines will often accept it. My overall rating of this product is a 4. Its efficacy a 4, while its taste a 3.5.
