These pills gave my Boston Terrier the worst gas ever--it was constant and very foul smelling. Not much improvement in her skin allergies after being on the pills for about 2 weeks. She only would take them if I punctured the capsule and put the liquid on her food, but most of the time, I'd end up squirting more of the liquid on myself because they were hard to puncture.
Casey (80lb Golden) has only been on this for a week and you can see and feel the difference in her coat. She had been scratching relentlessly due to winter dry skin. The scratching has stopped and her hair is now softer and shinier. It seems to have helped a bit with shedding as well. I just toss the capsule in with her wet food and she gobbles it down. Great product.
My Jack Russell was scratching and shedding much more than normal. She would leave mass amounts of hair where ever she sat and just was miserable scratching all the time. I added the Super Pure Omega 3 to her diet about 2 weeks ago along with daily brushing and a conditioning shampoo. She does not scratch near and much, the shedding is minimal (dogs do shed) and her coat is shiny and soft and she is a happy dog once more. I puncture the capsule and add to her food and she loves it. Great purchase.
My young dog had major skin allergies, always itching, her skin was constantly cracking and bleeding. Not to mention excessive shedding. Ever since she, and my other dog, have been taking these, they seem like puppies again. Both have shiny coats, they shed less, and their skin is not dry anymore. They both enjoy the taste. A friend's dog didn't like them, so we disguised the pill in a little peanut butter, and the dog never knew the difference.
The ingredients are Omega 3 and Vitamin E. These should be OK for your Golden Retriever. However, since you don't specifically mention the type of allergy, I would suggest you consult your veterinarian as well.
They're 7/8" long x 3/8" diameter. I wrap them in canned cat food, and my 59-lb. dog never notices that there's something there besides the meat. She's been on them for years. Her coat softened and shone within the first couple of weeks. While she's still subject to some seasonal itching, her skin stays smooth and soft.
