How it works:
The active ingredients include glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM. Glucosamine is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage in both humans and pets. It helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Many believe that it provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Further research on the effectiveness of glucosamine is still needed, but many of our customers find it to be very beneficial to their pets.
Cautions: Diabetic dogs or dogs that are overweight and have problems with glucose tolerance should have their blood sugars monitored if they are given glucosamine supplements. Side effects are very rare, but Super Joint Enhancers may cause diarrhea.

How this product should be used: The usual dose for dogs up to 10 lbs is ¼ tablet once a day, for dogs 10 to 24 lbs give ½ tablet daily, for dogs 25-100 lbs give 1 tablet daily and for dogs over 100 lbs give 2 tablets daily It is recommended that double the amount should be given for the first 6 weeks then reduce gradually over a 3 week period to the recommended dose.
What are the side effects: Side effects are rare but may include diarrhea.
What special precautions are there: This product is not intended to be used in place of other treatments in the presence of an infection, or if surgery is needed. This product contains artificial beef flavor. Glucosamine, in humans, may increase insulin resistance and consequently affect glucose tolerance. Diabetic dogs or dogs that are overweight and have problems with glucose tolerance should have their blood sugars monitored if they are given glucosamine supplements.
In the event of overdose: Overdose is not likely but may result in diarrhea.

My 15 year old Jack Russell had been experiencing problems with stiffness in his back legs, particularly when trying to stand up after laying on the floor. It had gotten so bad that if he laid down in the kitchen (on tile) he could barely walk after standing up. Within a few weeks of starting him on this (2-3 weeks on 1/2 tablet daily) we saw a huge improvement. He could stand up from laying down with no problem whatsoever and he did not appear to have stiffness in his back legs. He has been on it for several months and we've seen consistent, good mobility with his legs. Highly recommend this to anyone who has a dog with joint issues. Try this before putting them on prescription arthritis medicine. I was about to go the Rx route and glad I tried this first. It has really helped our little guy.
I have always trusted herbal remedies and preventitives over perscripton medications. I have been super blessed when taking our 9 year old, 125 pound dog (a Bull mastif and several other large breed mix) named Lex, to the vet. The report is that he is in surprisingly good health, thanks to people like Pet-Meds who give us the dog friendly herbals. Please give your large dog a break and give them the nutrition (herbal health foods) they need to not become crippled by joint pain. I found this wonderful herbal additive when ordering his regular multiple vitamins. In fact I accidently ordered them thinking I had ordered the vitamins. Couldn't be happier that I did that. He is doing even better than before. It is so nice to see our big dog who was crippled with pain 2 years ago out running and yes jumping and playing like a younger dog. .
I had tried another joint enhancer before with my now 12 year old Golden Retriever. She was really stiff after laying for a long time. I love and recommend this product. Now she stretches and goes. She runs and only limps if we walk for too long or overdoes it with her frisbee. She loves the taste of them.
MY DOG, MIKA, IS DOING SO MUCH BETTER ON THE SUPER JOINT ENHANCER THAN SHE WAS DOING ON THE CETYL-M I HAD HER ON PREVIOUSLY. I DON'T FIND THAT IT STINKS MORE THAN ANY OTHER DOG FOOD OR TREAT, BUT I DON'T STICK MY NOSE IN THE BOTTLE. I DO HAVE TO PUT IT IN MY DOG'S FOOD SO SHE'LL EAT IT, OTHERWISE SHE WILL NOT. SHE MOVES MUCH BETTER, LESS STIFF AFTER LONG WALKS & RUNNING. LOVE THAT I ONLY HAVE TO GIVE HER 1 PILL PER DAY AND IT IS APPROVED BY MY VET. REASONABLE PRICE TOO!!! THANKS PET MEDS FOR THIS PRODUCT!
My Rhodessian Ridgeback/Pitbull mix absolutely loves these supplements (he thinks their dog treats). I use these in combination with his prescribed Rimadyl & Tramadol to manage his pain/inflammation. Although he does limp and gets stiffness when he overdoes it, they do appear to be working for him because he romps around the yard and is happy!

You should talk to your vet, but aspirin is hard on their stomach... it shouldn't be given daily. Your vet can recommend something easier on your dogs stomach if he/she still needs something else besides the Super Joint Enhancer. Maybe 1-2 X / mth I give my dog a Rimadyl pill (prescription from my vet) when she really needs something extra because of being extra active ...long hikes, running a lot. Hope this helps. Renee M. In overweight pets or pets with diabetes, it is possible for products containing glucosamine, based on human evidence, to affect blood glucose levels. Increased thirst and increased urination are 2 symptoms that can be associated with diabetes as well as a number of other medical conditions.
Will This product work on by 7 yr old basset. Seems to be limping the next day after her walks (loves to walk) its the left front leg that is giving her trouble. Thanks T.W.
Super Joint Enhancer is a supplement used to promote joint health and mobility. It may take up to 6 weeks for you to see any improvement in the pet. If after 6 weeks, there is no change, you should have your pet examined by your veterinarian.
My dog will not take this pill. I crushed it up and put it in her food for 3 mornings and she ate it. On the third day, she threw it up. Could she be allergic to it? She has always had problems with beef and we only feed her chicken products. Does the pill come in chicken flavor?
She does not really have an allergy to this product. She does, based on your comments, probably have a stomach sensitivity to the product because of the natural beef flavor. The Super Joint Enhancer Soft Chews are chicken liver flavored.
from what i can tell, the ingredients are a fraction of what is in Dasaquin, yet the doses are the same. So either Dasaquin is putting a lot more in it and it not really causing it to be more effective but more costly, or this product is only half as good as Dasaquin.
I understand your comment but realistically you're comparing apples and oranges. There is no direct comparison between Dasuquin and Super Joint Enhancer other than they both contain glucosamine and chondroitin, the most common ingredients for joint health. Beyond that, the other ingredients are incorporated by each manufacturer based on their belief of what will help the pet the most. Both are excellent products. Both, based on customer comments, help the pet with the intended results. I am confident that if you use either one your pet will thank you for it.
