much improved coat
Since starting both my cats on Shed Terminator, I have seen a drastic change in their coats. My short-haired tortoise-shell has a nice silky, shiny and smooth coat. Before she was covered with mattes, and every time I pet or brushed her, hands full of fur would be every where. My long-haired tabby male is still getting to the point of being rid of mattes, but no longer leaves piles of fur on his favorite sleeping places. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this product, and will continue to use it. There also has not been any fight in getting either of them to eat the powder mixed in their moist food.

SHED TERMINATOR product review:
One of the most common questions I am asked in every day veterinary practice is "why does my pet shed so much?" While there are many factors possible in each individual case from seasonal to nutritional or other internal health issues, the fact that most of are pets are on the same processed commercial pet foods day in and out accounts for one of the biggest causes in my opinion of this frustrating problem. With this great blend of supplements in one product, with time and patience, I find that many patients coats and shedding will improve when used long term, as well as having the other health benefits of some of the major ingredients in this versatile product. With its combination of flax seed oil and evening primrose oil, this nice balance of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids is so helpful not only in helping promote soft and shiney, dandruff free coats, but also in helping as anti inflammatories and as wonderful preventative supplements for other conditions in the body. I have found the ingredient lecithin quite helpful in calming the nervous system as well as in helping reduce shedding. I will even sometimes add kelp powder or a kelp supplement when using this product to add additional trace minerals so important for overall body health, including a healthy skin and coat. Zinc and selenium(also included in this product) have a proven tract record in helping many types of skin and coat problems. In fact, many dogs with low thyroid offer suffer from selenium deficiencies, which makes it even more important to supplement dogs with low thyroid conditions or breeds predisposed to low thyroids with a product like this. The wnderful combination of B vitamins in this product help with enzyme systems throughout the body, as well as with mood and well being. The only problems I have seen with this product is occasional palatability problems, as it does have a strong taste. This can often be minimized by mixing with a bit of peanut butter in dogs or small amount of tuna or tuna juice in cats. I have also occasionally see a sensitive pet get diarrhea rarely. I recommend this product overall, however, and give it an efficacy of 4.5, with ease of use a 4.

TASTY & EFFECTIVE & at a great price
My cat loves it & so do I. I have used several different shedding products each from different competitors which were also more costly, but yours does an amazing job. her coat is shiny & soft & i don't get a handful of hair with every stroke. even my clothes & furniture approves. my daughter (the cat used to belong to her) saw a remarkable improvement & wants her back. of course, my cat's not going anywhere without me. Thx for this fabulous product!

One happy cat
My cat Deeva has shown great improvement since starting the Shed Terminator for cats in just one week. Deeva will groom constantly and shed quite a bit. Since starting the Shed Terminator, cat fur around our house has almost disapeared. Deeva has a healthy looking coat now. Deeva has even started playing cat games like when she was a kitten. Deeva is thirteen years old. The tuna flavor makes it easy for her to eat. Thank you very much for a wonderful product.

they hate the taste and/or texture!
My cats have totally balked at eating food sprinkled with this stuff, though I stir it in thoroughly. I'm trying to hang in and give them a chance to adapt, but it really worries me that they're refusing to eat; they still have dry food as a fall-back, but of course the canned stuff is certainly higher in protein. I find the capsules hard to pull apart, and the contents are often stuck in the capsule and take some major persuasion to get out; when I do, I often find the powder's lumpy and grainy and requires a fair amount of work to break up.

Shed Terminator seems to be a very good product. With 7 cats I have real cat hair problem. I have no idea how I would separate my cats to administer the Shed Terminator, not to mention the cost. Any clue what to do?
AnswersAnswer:Â If your cats each wind up eating approximately the same amount of food, then you can certainly apply the appropriate amount of Shed Terminator to the food and they can just each eat their portions. However, if that isn't an option, a product like the Furminator may be better for you. It's a tool you can use on each of the cats to help reduce shedding, and you won't have to worry about getting one for each cat. You can find the information on that here:http://www.1800petmeds.com/FURminat...
My cat will be 18 in May, he started clumping over the winter & it's getting worse. The big question is my cat is allergic to fish, can he still take this? I ordered it anyway but wondering if you have anything that works as good as this that doesn't contain fish?

I did mix some in real turkey I mad for xmas and still wouldn't eat it.
AnswersAnswer:Â Diane, just hang in there and persist. They wouldn't let me amend my initial review of this product, where I complained of the same thing -- but my cats did eventually give in and start eating the food with the supplement in it. I use far less than the recommended amount; otherwise they wouldn't touch their food. I put a half capsule in each can of food -- which meant it took longer to see results, of course. (They still suck off all the gravy and leave the solid stuff in the bowl, so they're not getting the full benefit, but their coats are better and, while they still shed like crazy, I don't have giant orange tumbleweeds rolling through the living room as I once did.) Good luck!AnswersAnswer:Â try moistening the dry food a little as suggested on the packageNote: Any trademarks are the property of their respective companies. |
