I purchased this comb at full price and two teeth fell out of it after the third use. I have short hair domestics so there is no getting tangled in their coat. The comb is not made well and comes apart--a waste of money.
I use the comb along with a lint roller to get the little buggers off my cat. The worst season I've seen in her 15 years. I keep a paper towel moist with spray cleaner to make sure the live ones don't escape. Tapping the comb teeth will push it out of the handle, have to watch that.
This comb is great! I have used it everyday on my cat and dog. We have watched the number of fleas go down each day. We did discover that by combing a stroke or two then dipping it in soapy water the fleas get stuck under the water and then we don't have to worry about them anymore. I love the comb and would recommend it to everyone, in fact I have!
this comb doesn't really help, it does not comb properly and the fleas actually get stuck on the crack and then they jump every where. and you cant find them. its great to know that they are everywhere else on you and not on your pet.
Hi Teatea, the best thing to prevent fleas would be one of our flea preventatives. If your looking for a flea comb the Resco Pro-Series Flea Comb works great on getting fleas off of your pet.
My groomer said I should buy a stanless comb with sharp teeth to keep my cat from getting mats. The ones they have at the pet store do not have sharp teeth.

The teeth are not sharp, but I like it for grooming my cats. I am not sure that your cat will tolerate very sharp teeth.... Mine don't

The teeth have to be sharp enough to get through the fur but not so sharp that they scrape the skin.

I know the manufacturer of this comb makes combs that have tapered pins with rounded tips which allows you to comb through and remove mats easier....not sure if that is what you mean by "sharp". As far as preventing mats you'll need to comb your cat on a regular basis as well..... at intervals based on the length of fur, activity, etc. Hope that helps.
No. I just start at the base of my cat's tail and work my way up then back to the tip of her tail. She loves it and I don't wake up to fur balls on my carpet.

You will not need to apply anything else since your pets coat has to be dry before using the comb.
this looks like the same kind that you can purchase at a local pet store.

I couldn't find one at a pet store that had 22 or more teeth per inch and long enough teeth to get all the way to the skin.
