Highly recommend!
Our 11yo Lab has bad arthritis. In his lifetime, we've tried many beds. I wanted this to be the last bed I bought because every time I bought one, it was expensive! I spent many hours over many days researching a bed for him (also had to have the right size for our space) and finally decided on this one. We've had it for about 6 weeks now. It's definitely the best bed we've owned. I am SO happy with it, and he seems to be too! It provides just the right amount of cushion & firm support he needs for his aching bones and to help him when he gets up from laying down. It vacuums up easily and nicely. The cover cleans up easily in the washing machine and is easy to put back on (a problem I've had with other ortho beds). Whoever designed this was experienced! I only wish it had a handle so we could easily transport it from the bedroom to the living room, as we do every day since our dog needs a good place to lay down and wants to be with me/us as much as possible. I am so grateful for it. I don't recall it giving off much odor when we received it, but we did leave it outside for a night to off-gas. It doesn't seem to have an odor or absorb any dog smell.

will buy again. Do you make this in round shape?
My lil boy absolutely loves this bed. He is getting older and couldn't get onto a temperpedic bed he shares with a family member. I had been looking for over a year for a memory foam bed that is at least 6 in high for him. I found this! This is just perfect. He immediately took to liking the bed and now frequently sleeps with us on his bed. He also sleeps more comfortable, and sleeps mostly straight through, instead of moving around being uncomfortable. I've laid on it the first day I received it, and found myself snoozing with him snuggled next to me for a few minutes. Can't believe we both had a lil catnap on the bed. This bed feels just like the temperpedic bed!!!
Another plus is that it is made in the USA. There are not many things made in the USA with quality. Most are made outside US and not as good quality.

Amazing
I got the XL for my 111lb Rottie & the L for my 55lb Lab mix. Both beds are great, especially for the larger breed dogs. It provides ample support while still remaining firm. After sleeping on these beds I notice both dogs are quicker to their feet & are definitely less stiff. I recommend these beds for younger dogs to help prevent join issues & for any dogs that already suffer from joint pain.

SWEET!
Ordered two of these beds for my "large" (72#) dogs. After reading all the reviews on how they are running small I ordered the XL. They are HUGE, should have ordered the Large. Reordered the Large... Ugh! The sizes listed are true to the sizes they actually are. The construction of these beds are wonderful. Soft but firm, fabric is plush and cozy. Beds seem to be worth every penny.
As far as the customer service at PetMeds, well they are the best customer service reps I have ever dealt with. They have earned my patronage! I highly recommend this company.

Well made and my dog sleeps well
This is a quality product. My dog should sleep as comfortably as I do and this bed is it.

Answer: No, there is no egg crate foam. It's 2" of memory foam on top of 4" of firmer foam. In my opinion, it's the perfect mix. You don't want all memory foam, because your dog would eventually sink to the floor. The firmer foam provides good support, while the memory foam enhances the cushioning. Also, (not included in the product description), there's a mattress pad-type liner, to help protect the foam. Great bed.
