Product Info   How to use   Ingredients   Customer Reviews   Q & A

What is Phycox?

Phycox® is a joint supplement to help reduce inflammation and discomfort due to normal daily activity. Each formulation of Phycox® contains a natural source of phycocyanin, an extract of blue-green algae offering joint support and stress relief. If your dog has allergies, use Phycox HA, which contains no mammalian protein.

For: Dogs

Benefits:
Contains a unique blend of glucosamine, MSM, boron, and creatine monohydrate to support joint function and healthy bone structure
Provides enhanced antioxidant protection and Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Come in a hypoallergenic formulation, which does not contain mammalian protein (no natural liver flavor)
Available in 3 formulations (soft chews, small bites, and granules)
SynoviG3

How it works:
The highly concentrated source of phycocyanin helps to support joint health and relieve joint stress by blocking the COX-2 enzyme to reduce inflammation. Phycocyanin also fights against free radicals to help strengthen your dog's immune system and protect against cellular damage which can also play a role in degenerative conditions. Both Phycox and Phycox HA work the exact same way, Phycox HA is suitable for dogs with allergies. Additional beneficial ingredients in Phycox® include:

  • Glucosamine - helps support joint health by stimulating glycosaminoglycan production which can help prevent cartilage deterioration
  • Boron - increases bone strength
  • Creatine Monohydrate - an amino acid that may improve muscle strength and help with mobility
  • MSM - provides dietary sulfur to maintain healthy cellular membranes, muscles, and joints
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids - reduces inflammation by inhibiting enzymes that can break down cartilage

Cautions:
Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. If lameness worsens, discontinue use and contact your veterinarian. Administer during or after your dog has eaten to reduce incidence of gastrointestinal upset.

Directions:
Phycox products should be given with food or after eating to avoid gastrointestinal upset.
Do not give Phycox to cats.
Tip: Diabetic dogs should have their blood glucose monitored when taking glucosamine supplements.

100% Recommended I bought these after looking for something that will help my 8 year old beagle who had developed issues such as limping and stiffness. I have been giving my dog the chews for about 3 weeks, and he is just like himself again. It is amazing. He thinks they are treats too (he is a beagle though and not too picky). 05/05/2012
Awesome Product I have a now 14 year old Blue Healer and the vet started her on these about 4 years ago, and they are wonderful. She has hip and joint problems and they really helped her alot ....They are so much better than Synovi G . I recomend them ... 04/18/2012
Good-N-Cheap I have a 10 year old Black Lab which is my hunting dog. He fell down the stairs as a puppy and somehow injured his shoulder. No apparent damage as per the vet, but began limping on that should/leg after heavy excersize/hunting in the last two years. Phycox has eliminated that problem. Period. HOWEVER, my vet has been charging me $70.99 for 120 ct soft chews? REALLY? NOT ANY MORE! Thanks PetMeds! I'll be ordering when I run out in 2 months. 04/14/2012
Phycox My 14 year doggie just started on these about 6 weeks ago & they have REALLY helped her hips. I have seen a HUGE improvement in her walking & back legs. My vet recommended this product but they are WAY cheaper online. 03/03/2012
perfect for her i have a two year old jack russell and her name is savannah. she was hit by a car (total accident) on thanksgiving in 2010 and had two broken back legs and had to have one of them cut off which was tough for both of us at first but once she was allowed to walk again you could see the pain in her eyes it was terrible so i asked the vet what can i do and she said ill show you something, came out with the phycox and weve been on it ever since. we have been using phycox (powder) for at least six months or more and i can tell the difference when she doesn't eat it. when she does you cant stop nor catch her. when she doesnt she sleeps ten times more and wants to be held all day. although she is a picky eater (table food kinda dog) she likes things that smell terrible but i have to hide "treats" in her food with it to get her to even touch it.....any suggestions???? thanks, kaitlin SC 01/16/2012

Yes. I'd try it before any narcotic med. Read my review when posted. Eliminated my 10 yr old Lab's limp. Just make sure you start the dog out on double dose the first 120 ct container.

Q:
If 1 scoop equals one chew, why is the dosage for a 75-100 Lb dog 2 scoops (2 x 450=900) per day, while the dosage for chews is 4 per day (4 x 450 = 1800mg)?

A:
For a 75 lb dog, you would give 2 scoops of Phycox Granules daily for the first 4-6 weeks, then 1 scoop daily, thereafter. If using the Phycox Soft Chews, you would give 4 chews daily for the first 4-6 weeks, then 2 chews daily, thereafter.
