How it Works:

After installing the AA batteries, place the FroliCat Dart Interactive Rotating Laser Toy for Cats on the floor or on a table and turn it on. Watch as your cat follows and chases the laser around the room. With the 360° motion, and the 16 different play combinations, your cat will never get bored. Plus, you can adjust the time to your cat's playtime.

Cautions:

Do not aim directly into your pet's eyes. Always supervise your pets when playing with toys. This product is intended for pets and not for children. Do not allow small children to use this product without adult supervision. Inspect his product periodically for damage and discard it immediately if it appears worn or broken.

Directions:

Variable Speeds:

Put in 3 AA batteries and set Dart on a stable surface like the floor or table.
Press "ON/OFF SPEEDS" button to turn on. Dart will run for 5 minutes on slow speed.
Press "ON/OFF SPEEDS" button again to change speed to medium fast or variable.
The indicator light for the selected speed (slow, medium, fast or viable) will glow solid green.
Press "ON/OFF SPEEDS" panel on top of Dart a 5th time (after super-fast speed setting) to turn DART off.

Variable Timers:

Dart will automatically turn off after 5 minutes, but can be set for 10, 15 or 20 minute time periods.
Press the timer button to change the time.
The indicator light below the selected time (5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes) will flash.
Press "ON/OFF SPEEDS" button to turn off before selected time period has ended.

Battery Installation:

Locate battery door on the bottom of the product.
Open the battery door and place the batteries inside being sure to match positive and negative sides.
After completion, close the battery door.

We replaced it with a much less expensive one that moves a rod with a feather attached that moves randomly around in a circle, sometimes stopping and then going the other way. It has a speed control as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Clare from nothing good about it This product is dangerous. There is no easy way to avoid them looking into the beam. It is noisy, which attracts their attention. The beam moves much too fast and erratic even on the slowest speed. None of my 4 cats would play with it. Total waste of money.

Is there a variable distance that the laser beam shines out from the base?

Unfortunately, it does not have a variable distance for the beam, only for the time and speed.
