What is Designer Cot?

The Designer Cot is a versatile resting area to help keep your pet dry and cool all year long. The mesh waterproof fabric makes this cot, which comes in small, medium, and large, great for patios and areas by the pool. But it can also be used indoors as an additional place for your pet to rest. The Designer Cot is available in 2 colored bone patterns (Sage and Tan).

For:

Dogs and Cats (100 lbs and under)

Benefits:
  • Elevates pet off the ground (67 inches) to keep coat dry, away from bugs, and keeps your pet's body temperature cool in extreme heat or cold.
  • Mesh fabric provides airflow and drainage from water or rain.
  • Clean up is easy. Wipe down the cot with warm water and let air dry.
How it Works:

Cots are different from traditional pet beds because of their mesh fabric and sturdy steel tubing. Wet pets can rest on the cot and the water will drain through the mesh fabric to help your pet dry off quicker. The cot is also elevated to help keep your pet cool - especially helpful in the hot summer months.

Cautions:

For pets only.

How to Use
Directions:
  • Remove plastic wrapping from around Designer Cot and make sure to discard.
  • Unfold cot and place in desired location
Tip:

To clean, wipe down dirty areas with warm water and let air dry.

Designer Cot is rated 3.1111 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light weight and not very sturdy I got this for my German Shepherd, lasted about 2 months. It moved and slid every time she got on it and the frame wound up bending then the mesh ripped. Horrible purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bed needs upgrades I had to run nylon straps across the width and use a thin fabric bed on top to keep nails from tearing webbing. It needs at least 2 more lenghtwise straps and 4 or more crosswiise nylon straps to work right. My dog is 10-12 100lbs. and it works to help arthritis and incontinence, it has helped her that way and has lasted a year after with stitching holes with fishing line and rug needle. I had the large but now went with the medium, it fits her top fabric padded bed and may be easier to run the necessary extra support straps. I hope that Pet Gear makes the improvements because it is a great idea. Just isn't good without these home upgrades. Which would increase sales surely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap material Have GSD, 85 pound female, fourth time getting on the cot, her front claw cut material and it ripped from end to end. My dog has normal feet. Wasn't like I was trying to have a velociraptor sleep there. Very disappointed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This cot didnt last a year. Started to stretch and then the whole seam gave way. My dog weighes 40 lbs and I purchased the large cot which is suppose to support a much larger dog. Definately dont recommend this & as I see others have had the same problem in other reviews.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable. This cot is a great idea and my lab loved it but it did not last 6 months. The material stretched and then tore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great Even though my german shepherd loves her cot, it just wouldn't hold up. Stretched, and then tore from the corner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cat Bed Our 12 yr old cat loves this bed. He sleeps on it in the house during the summer just as it is. The mesh in the center allows for air flow and is comfortable for him. In the cooler months we have a few soft towels that we change frequently as he will only sleep on freshly washed bedding, one or two days at the most. We chose the medium size for our 9 lb. cat and he can stretch out and roll over on it with enough space that he won't fall off. This bed is one of his favorites and he always returns to it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This cot is constructed well However, I agree with the last person who gave a comment. I also purchased two cots for my two rotties. Within two weeks the mesh had stretched almost touching the floor. The frame held up well. Pet Meds backs up their merchandise, but the company (Pet Gear) who makes them does not stand behind their product. I spoke to them.

Which bed go get for 40 -50 lb dog?

Hello, I have two dogs one is around 40lbs and the other is around 48 lbs. I would like to get the median designer outdoor cot but not sure if that would work. Do you recommend the median or large? The smaller dog is an old chow mix and the larger dog is a small female collie. Both dogs are less than 50 and the older chow mix is low 40lbs. What do you recommend? Thank you.
Asked by: Wanda
In order for them to be as comfortable as possible we would suggest to go with the large.
