Alice has had dandruff on her back forever, it increases in winter or when she's stressing out (like when we moved). Got some huge, expensive pellet things from the vet which worked, but it took a few weeks to nearly eliminate the dandruff. I swear this stuff worked in THREE DAYS! Her coat's always been beautiful and glossy, except for the skunk stripe of dandruff on her back---now it's gone!
Here's a trick for those of you who can't get your dog to take pills. Put a dob of wet cat food and mush the medication into it. Works great.
Our pug was itchy all the time always trying to rub her back on the furniture, chewing on herself and driving us nuts....pugs shed a lot and this was also a problem with her. She has been on this product for about 5 months and no more itching, her coat is very soft and noticeably reduced shedding. Very economical for a small dog, half a capsule a day. She eats it right up...seems to love the flavor. A good buy for a product that really works.
I have an 8yr old Pomeranian who had course fur, and bare spots and flaky skin. She has been on this product for approx 8 months and her fur is gorgeous! So soft and it has sure filled in. I would sure recommend it.
My lab has been plagued with some winter dry skin. His coat wasn't as soft or as shiny as it could be from the dander and itching. We started him on these capsules (he eats them whole with his food) and within 4 days we noticed a difference. No more dry skin and his coat is VERY shiny and soft now! What a great product!!
We have been giving this to our Plott Hound/Lab mix and he absolutely loves it! We give it to him every morning and he eats it right up. His coat is so shiny! We started using it because he had flaky skin but a few weeks after starting it, there were no more flakes.
Thank you very much for your answer. Yes my veterinarian told me to give her 4 Vitamin A 8000 i.u. softgels per day. Do you think it would be better to give her just 2 a day or should I get her the 6000 i.u?
Because Brite Coat XS does not contain any additional Vitamin A, I know of no reason why you could not do this. My only question would be the 8000 I.U. dose of Vitamin A for your Golden. Did your veterinarian give you that dose to use. From what I can tell, 6000 I.U. should be the upper limit for a pet weighing 60-70 lbs.
I have a 1 year old English Bulldog that sheds like crazy, unsure if it might be worse because of our climate in Hawaii. I know that English bulldogs are known to have skin allergies/problems too.
Im trying to find a product that will work as far to help reduce her shedding and help with potential skin problems.
Both the Brite Coat XS and Shed Terminator have similar ingredients which one will work better?
