Advantage II is a monthly flea preventative for dogs and cats that offers comprehensive flea protection by killing adult fleas, larvae, and eggs. Advantage II also treats, prevents, and controls lice on dogs. Advantage II does not kill ticks, so we recommend using the Preventic Tick Collar along with Advantage II (dogs only).
For: Dogs (7 weeks of age or older) Cats (8 weeks of age or older)
Benefits:
•
Kills fleas within 12 hours of application
•
Kills all flea life stages including flea eggs and larvae to prevent infestation
•
Treats, prevents, and controls lice infestations (dogs only)
•
Safe and easy to apply
•
Waterproof - remains effective even if pet gets wet
How it works:
The first active ingredient is imidacloprid, which acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. Within 12 hours of application, 98-100 percent of fleas are dead. The second active ingredient, pyriproxyfen, is an insect growth regulator. Once a female flea lays her eggs, pyriproxyfen works to prevent the eggs from hatching, ending the flea life cycle.
Cautions:
Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. If signs persist, or become more severe, consult a veterinarian immediately. Do not get this product in your pet's eyes or mouth.

Directions:
•
Apply Advantage II once a month every month.
•
For dogs up to 20 lbs, part the pet's hair between the shoulder blades until you can see the skin. Place the tip of the applicator on the skin and release all of the tube's contents on a single spot directly on the skin.
•
For dogs 21 lbs and over, apply entire contents of the tube evenly in 3 or 4 spots on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the applicator on the skin and release a portion of the Advantage II solution directly on the skin. Do not apply an excessive amount of solution at any one spot that could cause some of the solution to run off the side of the dog.
•
For kittens and cats, place the applicator tip through the cat's hair to the skin on the neck at the base of the skull and release all of the tube's contents on a single spot directly on the skin.
•
Use only one applicator per treatment.
Tip: Under normal conditions Advantage II is effective for a month. However, in case of severe flea infestation, retreatment may be necessary earlier than four weeks. Do not re-treat more often than once every seven days. After flea control is obtained, return to a monthly treatment.

Works so far!
Inherited 2 cats and they came complete with fleas. I bought advantage along with the spot spray and flea comb and so far my flea infestation has diminished and I havent seen a flea since. I also vacuumed and used my carpet cleaning machine. I gave both a bath with Dawn dish soap which I was informed to use because fleas don't like it. Since I've done all this, everything has been great. I will definitely continue to use these products, Thank you.

when the product dries....it may leave a white residue on the pet's fur.....it is especially noticable on dark furred pets......it is nothing to be alarmed about
I cannot get rid of fleas on my 7 pound Poodle. I have tried Frontline Plus for dogs that I got from my vet. My dog still has fleas. We live in the country and when she goes outside to go to the bathroom, she still comes back in with fleas. Do you think the Knine Advantage 2 will help her more than what I received from my vet? I am desperate. She is so miserable
Hi Great question. I hope this will explain everything that will be needed to resolve your issue. Frontline plus is a great product but you cannot double dose the same month if they get a reinfestion. Treating the Furry Friend alone will not resolve a flea issue and the fleas will eventually end up back on your pet if you have not defogged the house and or treat the surrounding area outside. Now you asked about advantage. What is great about this product, you can treat your Furry Friends (dogs or cats) up to a week apart while resolving/treating the surrounding flea infested area, once the issue is resolved you can go back to dosing them monthly as usual.
I have seven indoor cats(outside sometimes on deck in cages during summer) which flea prevention would I be better off with - Advantage multi - previously used or could I use Advantage II
Hi, The Advantage II takes care of fleas, flea eggs and Larvae and is not prescribed. The Advantage Multi takes care of fleas but also is a heartworm preventative and it is a prescribed medication. So it is really contingent upon you speaking to your vet to see which one is needed, he would know your area the best.
